William H. Bartran

William H. Bartran (August 21, 1838 – November 23, 1905) was an American physician and politician.

Born in Tioga County, New York, Bartran attended Wyoming Seminary. In 1861, he enlisted in the 27th New York Volunteer Infantry Regiment during the American Civil War and was wounded during the Battle of Bull Run. In 1862, Bartran matriculated at the University of Michigan and graduated in 1865. Bartran was a physician and surgeon in Green Bay, Wisconsin. He lived in Fort Howard, Wisconsin and served as mayor of the city. He also served as chairman of the Suamico, Wisconsin Town Board in 1871 and 1872. Bartran served in the Wisconsin State Assembly in 1873 and 1874 and was a Republican. Bartran died in Green Bay, Wisconsin from a long illness.[1][2]
