Williams Interactive
Williams Interactive was formed as a wholly owned subsidiary of WMS Industries in July 2012 "to focus on the growth, development and operational execution of the company’s worldwide online wagering, social, casual and mobile gaming initiatives."[1]
Company history
WMS Industries dates back to 1943 when founded by Harry Williams, inventor of the Tilt mechanism for Pinball machines.[2] In the 1980s and 1990s, WMS Industries entered the home video game industry with arcade hits like Mortal Kombat and NBA Jam, and in the mid 1990s began creating video gambling machines through a wholly owned subsidiary WMS Gaming, still in business today. WMS Gaming may be best known as the makers of Jackpot Party, Reel 'em In!, Wizard of Oz and Monopoly slot machine themes for land-based casinos.
In the first half of 2012, WMS Industries acquired Stockholm, Sweden-based Jadestone Group AB[3] and then Cedar Falls, Iowa-based Phantom EFX[4] which would later become part of the announced subsidiary Williams Interactive.[5]
In July 2012 Williams Interactive announced the launch of its Facebook social casino game Jackpot Party Casino[6]
In October 2012 both Betsson and Unibet online casinos entered multi-year agreements with Williams Interactive to provide "such premium video slot games as Jackpot Party, Zeus or Reel ‘Em In which they can offer to their registered players (more than 12 million customers).".[7]
Williams Interactive produce the Fire Queen slot game which is available at a large number of physical and online casinos [8]
