Education

Williamsville North offers two different New York State certified diplomas: the Regents diploma and the Advanced Regents Diploma. The Advanced Regents diploma has more requirements in the math and sciences than the Regents diploma. Williamsville North does have a Foreign Language requirement, and every student must fulfill it by passing the regents exam in that language, usually in the end of the sophomore or junior year.
Performing arts
Williamsville North has several ensembles: A String Orchestra (under the direction of Mr. Joseph Buckle), Wind Ensemble (audition required for entry), Symphonic Band, Jazz Ensemble (audition required for entry), Jazz Band, Chorale (audition required for entry), Mixed Chorus, Choraleers, Women's Chorus, and Men's Choir.
The music department also offers courses in Music Theory and AP Music Theory.
The Winter Spartan Spectrum Concert is presented annually by Music Department; it includes all the major ensembles plus small ensembles created by North students. The concert is run in the prism-concert style of the Eastman School, where applause is limited between performances and the transition to the next ensemble is immediate. The Spectrum Concert is a two-day event held before the winter recess each year.
The Theatre Department performs a musical production each year; while the Drama Club puts on a smaller dramatic production each fall.
Athletics
North's boys' athletic teams are referred to as the Spartans, whereas the girls' teams are referred to as the Lady Spartans.
Williamsville North is a member of the ECIC-I athletic conference within Section VI of the New York State Public High School Athletic Association. North fields teams in many sports, in both the girl's and boy's divisions. Boys sports include Basketball, Baseball, Cross Country, Ice Hockey, Lacrosse, Soccer, Swimming and Diving, Volleyball, and Track and Field.
