Wilsum

For Wilsum in Lower Saxony, see Wilsum, Germany.

Wilsum (population as of 2001: 710) is a village in the Dutch province of Overijssel. It is located in the municipality of Kampen, about 4 km southeast of that city.

Wilsum received city rights in 1331. It is most known for its church, which was built in 1050 and as such the oldest church in the province Overijssel. Thanks to several restorations (the last one being in 1982) the church is still in a very good state.

Wilsum was a separate municipality until 1937, when it became a part of IJsselmuiden.[1]
