World on Fire is the second studio album billed to the band Slash feat. Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators; also being the third overall solo-project studio album by Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash. Produced by Michael "Elvis" Baskette, it was released on September 16, 2014.[1] The album consists of songs written by Slash and company while on the road. Kennedy had focused on rhythm guitar and vocals on Apocalyptic Love, but due to his touring with Alter Bridge he worked only on vocals for World On Fire.[2] Returning members Todd Kerns and Brent Fitz played bass and drums, respectively, on the album.

Reception

World on Fire received generally positive reviews from critics. Metal Hammer gave it a rating of 8 out of 10 and stated, “there is a lot to love on this record and so many riffs that you won't be able to get out of your head.” Simon Ramsay of Stereoboard gave the album four out of five stars, and praised vocalist Myles Kennedy's improved vocal performance, stating that whilst on Apocalyptic Love, he sang high notes too often and "it felt like he was trying too hard to be Slash's new Axl Rose", he "asserts his own vocal identity in magnificent fashion" on World on Fire. However, he criticised the album's long running time, though he felt that even the weakest tracks "have their charms."[3]
