XOOM Energy is a North Carolina-based utility retailer, offering natural gas and electricity services to commercial and residential customers in deregulated energy markets in North America.

History

XOOM Energy was launched in 2011. The company was originally based in Charlotte but later relocated to nearby Huntersville, North Carolina in 2013.[1]

In 2015, XOOM energy was ranked thirteenth overall in the Inc. 5000, which placed it first in the energy industry.[2][3] ranked first for the energy industry on Inc. Magazine's "Inc. 5000" list for 2015.[4]

In 2015 the company allied with Renewable Power Direct to provide delivery options for renewable electricity in the Texas, New York, New England and deregulated Mid Atlantic markets.[5]

Services

The Company offers service through its wholly owned subsidiaries in 18 states, plus the District of Columbia in 78 utility markets across the US and employs 140 people in the Charlotte metro area. XOOM energy offers natural gas and/or electricity plans in California, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland,[6] Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania,[7] Rhode Island, Texas[8] and Virginia. The company also offers six utilities in Alberta, Canada.[9]
