Xuxa Dance is the sixth Spanish language album by Brazilian, singer, TV host and actress Xuxa. It was released in December 1996 by Polygram (now Universal Music). Xuxa Dance was the first teenager album directed to the Hispanic audience.^[2]

Production

The album was recorded outside Brazil, at the Flamingo Café Recording Studio studios, Studio City, in California, and has producers Christian de Walden and Max di Carlo and co-production of Walter Clissen. He had an international distribution of Mercury Records (United States) and PolyGram (Latin America).^[3][4]

Curiously, Los Amigos de Mis Amigas Son Mis Amigos is the only non-written song on the album "Xuxa Dance" by the authors Max di Carlo, Christian de Walden and Graciela Carballo (disregarding Ilarié's re-recording). In total, 14 songs were recorded for the album "Xuxa Dance", for unknown reasons, two songs did not enter the final selection. In the same period of production of the international album, Xuxa recorded the song Amém with the producers of "Dance", the song was used in many specials and shows of Xuxa and was recorded in 2009 for the album "Natal Mágico". Xuxa also recorded the video clips of the songs Los Amigos de Mis Amigas Son Mis Amigos and Esto de Quererte in Miami.

The work is composed basically by compositions dance/electronic, a few ballads and a cover version of Ilarie which is nothing more than a remix with re-recorded vocals.

Xuxa Dance was released at the end of 1996 in Argentina, in November had reached the ninth place among the most sold in that country the following month occupied the third position, behind the Tango album Julio Iglesias. In February 1997, Xuxa Dance had already won gold in Argentina, according to Billboard magazine.^[6][7][8][9]

In addition to Argentina, the album was released in Mexico shortly after, and in the United States where it had a slightly better repercussion than the predecessor El Pequeño Mundo, but not enough to become the album a hit.^[10][11]

Xuxa made a few trips to the release Xuxa Dance, in Argentina made two Pocket Shows in programs of Telefe television network: El Show en el Park and La Movida del Verano.
