Yijun (Pixy) Liao is a Chinese born, American photographer.
Biography
Yijun (Pixy) Liao was born in Shanghai. Liao currently lives in Brooklyn.[1] Liao received a MFA in photography from University of Memphis.
She is mostly known for her series "Experimental Relationship". The series depicts her with her younger Japanese boyfriend.[2][3]
Liao received NYFA Fellowship, En Foco's New Works Fellowship. She won Second Place LensCulture Exposure Awards in Portfolio Category.[4] She had been an artist in residence for Pioneer Works, Light Work, Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, Center for Photography at Woodstock and Camera Club of New York.[5]
Liao's works are in public collections around the world, including Museum of Modern Art Artist Book Collection, Franklin Furnace Archive, Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, Fort Wayne Museum of Art, The Kinsey Institute, Center for Photography at Woodstock, etc.
