York Conferences
York Conferences Limited is a subsidiary trading company of the University of York (York, UK)[1] and is the commercial body responsible for the organisation and management of conferences and events at three different venues: the University's Heslington campus during the Easter and Summer university vacations; the King's Manor in York city centre; and the National Science Learning Centre also on the main campus, one of a number of Science Learning Centres across the country.
University archives show that the first Conference Officer was appointed in 1970.[2]
York Conferences are a member of Venuemasters,[3] an academic venue consortium, and are accredited by the Meetings Industry Association (MIA).[4] In addition, in 2009 York Conference Park Ltd achieved the Customer First and Investors In People (IIP) standards.
