York Conservative Association
York Conservative Association is a Conservative Association branch of the Conservative Party. York Conservatives are in York and serves an estimated population 198,800 as of 2009.[1]
York Conservative Association is made up of 2 Parliamentary Constituencies, York Outer CC, York Central BC and the City of York unitary authority of the United Kingdom. It is in the Yorkshire & Humber Conservative Party region[2]
Parliamentary Constituencies
York Outer is a county constituency represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. It elects one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election. In the General Election 2010 Conservative candidate Julian Sturdy was elected as Member of Parliament (MP) for York Outer CC.
York Central is a borough constituency which is represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. It elects one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election. In the General Election 2010 Conservative candidate Susan Wade-Weeks was defeated as Member of Parliament (MP) for York Central BC.
Local Government Councillors
As a result of the 2011 local elections York Conservatives became the opposition party with 10 elected councillors[3] of the 47 councillors serving the 22 wards. The current councillors were elected to serve a 4-year term in the City of York Council.[4] The role the Conservative Councillors have taken for their term were launched.[5]
