Young's Park (Overland Park, Kansas)

Not to be confused with Youngs Park, Norfolk, Virginia.

Young's Park is a park in Overland Park, Kansas.

It has an area of 14.47 acres and includes a playground, a pool, and various recreational facilities, as well as a "historic area".[1] There was originally a private lake on this property. The lake was originally supposed to be north Kilarney Lake. William B. Strang Jr. intended to establish a recreational park there just as he did his South Killarney Lake....now South Lake Park. A family by the name of Young bought the property after Strang's death and the lake area soon was only known by their name. Strang had to have been the person who built the dam. The Young family donated the property to the city of the park that sits there now.
