Education
K-12 education
Ypsilanti Township was, until 2013 served by four public school districts: Ypsilanti Public Schools (YPS), Lincoln Consolidated Schools (LCS), Willow Run Community Schools (WRCS), and Van Buren Public Schools (VBPS). However, on July 1, 2013 two of them, the YPS and WRCS were consolidated and renamed the Ypsilanti Community Schools (YCS) which continues to serve residents of Ypsilanti Township.
Ypsilanti Public Schools drew students from the city proper, western Ypsilanti Township east of Golfside Road, northern Ypsilanti Township east of Prospect, and small parts of the township south of I-94. Willow Run Community Schools, named after the famous Willow Run bomber plant and airport in the eastern part of the township, drew students primarily from eastern Ypsilanti Township north of I-94. Lincoln Consolidated Schools draw students from the township south of I-94.
The former Ypsilanti High School (now YCS High School) and the former Willow Run High School are both in the township.[6]
Global Educational Excellence operates the Global Tech Academy (PreK-5) in Ypsilanti Township.[9][6]
