Zhang Xielin
Zhang Xielin (born 1940) is a Chinese table-tennis player who carried the Olympic flag in 2008 Summer Olympics Opening Ceremony.[1]
He was active in the 1960s and uses a rare pen-grip chopping style. Utilizing steady chops and unpredictable spins, He is one of the earliest successful long-pimple rubber players, and the first Chinese player to win a men's doubles champion (with Wang Zhiliang, at the 1963 World Table Tennis Championships).
He is also the coach who is behind "Match Manipulation" during 1987 World PingPong Championship Tournament. He tried to force a Chinese female athlete - "Zhili He" to forfeit in the match to another Chinese female athlete. But Ms. Zhili He did not follow his order and won the championship. He forbidden Ms. He in all other matches later including Olympic event though Ms. Lizhi He is No 1 in the world, which forced Ms. He immigrated to Japan and represent Japan in the matches later.
