Zorlu Center PSM

Zorlu Center PSM is a performing arts venue in Besiktas in Istanbul, Turkey, located at Zorlu Center. It is Europe's largest and world's third largest performing arts venue.[1] Zorlu Center PSM showcases diverse artistic genres including Broadway and West End musicals, dance, classical, opera, jazz and the best pop artists. As the new crossroads for performance, visual and contemporary arts, Zorlu Center PSM presents world famous performance troupes and live performing artists, under the leadership of Executive Director Ray Cullom.[2] Zorlu Center PSM is operated by New York City based Nederlander Worldwide Entertainment (NWE), one of the Nederlander family of companies which are collectively the largest owner and operator of theatres in the World.[3][4]

Facilities

Main theatre

The center's main theatre has natural acoustics for amplified or acoustic concerts and can accommodate a wide range of performances. The main theatre contains two balconies and has a 2,242-seat capacity. The stage measures 24 m proscenium width, over 24 m of depth, with a fly-tower height of 30 m, and total area (including wing-space) of 1500 m2.

Drama stage

A smaller version of the main theatre, the center's drama stage has the same capabilities and is found across the lobby that connects both venues.

Equipped with sound, video and light show systems and technology, the theatre and auditorium have one balcony and seats with a total capacity of 717.

The stage is 11 m wide (proscenium) with 12 m depth and a fly-tower measuring at 12 m height, with a total area (including wings) of 315 m2. Fully trapped stage floor. The orchestra pit can accommodate up to 24 musicians. 5 star dressing rooms and 8 additional dressing rooms, total 119 piece.

Studio

Alongside the main theatre and the drama stage, the center features a multi-use studio theatre space.

The "studio" includes a 100 m2 balcony, the "SSL" mixing room and the "Post" editing room. This 500 m2-sized room provides for numerous activities and events such as: recordings for film and orchestras, pre and post music production, recording / editing / mixing and mastering, music rehearsals, dance / aerial, rehearsals / workshops / clinics, press conferences (up to 150 seats), meet & greets, small sized VIP concerts (up to 110 seats), corporate events, small sized theatre shows (up to 110 seats), video and photograph shootings.

VIP Lounge

The Performing Arts Center is designed by architect Emre Arolat. An all-inclusive 650 m2 VIP lounge, with a limited capacity of 250.

Foyer

There are up to 16 concession areas within the venue. The foyer has infrastructure to host cocktails, launches, art galleries, exhibitions and corporate events with total 5200 m2 space.

City Stage

City Stage presents a regular series of free public performances open to any local performer on a Zorlu Center PSM stage.[5]
