The fifth ASEAN School Games were hosted by Vietnam in Hanoi.[1] It was the first time Vietnam has hosted this annual event.

The Philippines will stage the golf competition on a satellite basis at the 2013 ASEAN School Games to be hosted by Vietnam, DepEd Undersecretary Rizalino Rivera attended an organisation meeting of the Games in Singapore last November and was asked by Vietnam if the Philippines could stage golf in this year’s competition on a satellite basis.[2]
