Plot
Haley (Sarah Hyland), Alex (Ariel Winter) and Luke (Nolan Gould) are in vacation in New York with Claire (Julie Bowen) and Phil (Ty Burrell) but the parents have to leave early for professional reasons. At the last minute, they decide to stay, but, unbeknownst to them, the kids have taken the same decision. Both groupes try to avoid each other. Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson), Cameron (Eric Stonestreet) and Lily (Aubrey Anderson-Emmons) journey to Missouri. Cameron’s Grandma dies and Mitchell aggravates the situation during the euology.
Jay (Ed O'Neill) and Gloria (Sofía Vergara) take Manny (Rico Rodriguez and Joe (Jeremy Maguire) to a wedding in Aranjuez. While here, they rush to Sonia who puts pressure on Gloria in order to know about her secret sauce. Gloria refuses to give it, prompting Sonia, while they’re back in California to take Manny hostage, resulting in him developing a Stockholm Syndrome.
The Family reunites then for Father’s Day when Gloria admits that Jay secretly reminds her her late father who strongly resembled him. The Dunphies all apologize when they discover they lied behind the other group’s back.
