Akinlolu Richard Olamide "Akin" Famewo (born 9 November 1998) is an English professional footballer who plays as a defender for League Two club Luton Town.

Career

Born in Lewisham, Greater London, Famewo joined Luton Town as an under-10 and progressed through the club's youth system.[3] He was part of the under-18 squad which won the Youth Alliance South East title,[4][5] and also reached the quarter-finals of the 2015–16 FA Youth Cup, losing 1–0 to Blackburn Rovers,[6][7] before winning the Youth Alliance Cup.[8][9][10] Famewo signed his first professional contract on 18 July 2016 at the start of the second year of his scholarship.[3] He was named in the matchday squad for the first time on 10 August 2016 for Luton's 3–1 EFL Cup first round win over Aston Villa, but remained an unused substitute.[2][11] Famewo made his professional debut on 16 August 2016 as an 86th-minute substitute for Jordan Cook in a 2–1 home win over Newport County.[12]
