American Legion State Forest is a Connecticut state forest located in the town of Barkhamsted.[4] The forest is adjacent to Peoples State Forest.

Recreation opportunities

The forest's recreational offerings include canoeing on the Farmington River and hiking on a variety of trails including the blue-blazed Henry Buck and Turkey Vultures Ledges trails.[4] Camping is offered at the Austin F. Hawes Memorial Campground by the banks of the river.[3]
