BandPage is a music startup based in San Francisco, California that produces the application BandPage, which powers over 500,000 artists' Pages.[2]
BandPage launched in March 2010 and is an application that allows artists to create customized fanpages within Facebook. The artist can upload and share tracks, videos, photos, and their touring schedule within Facebook.[3] In August 2010, Billboard named BandPage one of the "Top 10 Best Digital Media Startups".[4]
On February 12, 2016, BandPage was acquired by Google via subsidiary YouTube for $8 million.[5]
Funding and team
BandPage raised $18.3 million in funding in 2011,[6] with $2.3 million coming from their Series A which was led by Mohr Davidow Ventures and $16 million coming from their Series B led by GGV Capital, Northgate Capital, and Mohr Davidow Ventures.[7]
BandPage's CEO and Founder is J. Sider. The CTO is Chris Tholén. The founding team is rounded out by Jason Anderson and Matt Conn.[8]
