Catherine Mardon
Catherine Mardon is a Canadian writer, activist, and lawyer.[1][2]
Biography
Catherine Mardon was born in Oklahoma, but spent many years living in St. Petersburg, Florida.[2] She currently lives in Canada. Her academic background includes a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Agriculture from Oklahoma State University, a Juris Doctor from the University of Oklahoma, and a Bachelor’s Degree of Art from Newman University.[1] She is currently working to receive a Masters in Theological Studies degree from Newman Theological College in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.[1][2] Mardon is supposedly also a determined social activist, having worked for family farmers, with ecumenical organizations, for the homeless, and as a speaker on social justice issues.[2] She was admitted to the Oklahoma Bar in 1988.[1] Her legal practice also included archdiocesan tribunal work, death penalty appeals, and a variety of low income concerns.[2] Mardon is also an experienced mediation trainer responsible for the recruitment, training, supervision and evaluation of over 180 volunteer mediators.[1]
Personal life
After suffering from an injury which left her disabled, she became an advocate for the disabled.[3] She is currently married to fellow writer and activist Austin Mardon, and has co-written several books with him.[3]
