China–Senegal relations refer to the foreign relations between China and Senegal.

Political ties

From 1996 to 2005, Senegal maintained relations with the Republic of China (Taiwan) instead of the People's Republic of China. On October 25, 2005, People's Republic of China re-established foreign relations with Senegal.[1]

Economic ties

Chinese development finance to Senegal

From 2006 to 2011, there are approximately 26 Chinese official development finance projects identified in Senegal through various media reports.[2] These projects range from a $100 million USD project financed by China's Exim Bank for the building of an e-government network in 2005,[3] to a concessional loan of 370 million RMB to construct a 30 km 90 kV high-voltage power transmission line and 4 90/30 kV transformer substations in 2007,[4] and an agreement to revive the Dakar dem dikk Transport Company (DDD) at a cost of 30 billion FCFA in 2011.[5]
