Dave Schiavone
Dave Schiavone is a Jazz Saxophonist from Buffalo, NY.
Schiavone is well known in the Buffalo area for the work of his quartet, the Dave Schiavone Quartet. Originally a collaboration between Schiavone and pianist Joe Brancato, drummer Peggy Scalzo and bassist Buddy Fadale were later added, and this group released a CD entitled "Hidden Treasures." Following the release of this album, the quartet gained widespread radio play throughout western New York and Ontario.
Schiavone has also performed extensively across the United States and across the world with artists such as Woody Herman, Tommy Dorsey, Doc Severinsen, Nancy Wilson, Natalie Cole, Harry Connick Jr., Johnny Mathis, Frank Sinatra Jr., Kenny Rogers, Maureen McGovern, David Clayton Thomas, Mel Lewis, Don Menza, Louis Bellson, Gap Mangione, and Aretha Franklin, to name a few.
Schiavone is an active saxophone and jazz instructor in the Buffalo area. He teaches saxophone and directs jazz ensembles at the University at Buffalo, Buffalo State College, Canisius College, and Villa Maria College.
