Flint is an unincorporated community located in Mitchell County, Georgia, United States.[1]
Geography
Flint's latitude is at 31.317 and its longitude is at -84.179. Its elevation rests at 184 feet. Flint appears on the Baconton South U.S. Geological Survey Map and lies at the intersection of U.S. 19 and Tution Road. Flint Road, River Road, and Saint Mary's Road also lie in the area.[1]
Churches
Saint Mary's Baptist Church, Bethel Baptist Church, and Beautiful Light Baptist Church rest in the town.[1] Bethel Baptist Church was the most prominent African American church in the county. It was organized on the land of Mr. L. A. M. Collins, who was a large plantation owner. He had many black tenant-farmers, so he dedicated 10 acres of land to 'be forever used as a negro church grounds and cemetery.' It was founded in 1879 by Collins James, a prominent black Baptist preacher.
Demographics
As of 2011 Flint is a small farming community. It is a quiet community with a few abandoned general stores and scenic roads and barns.[1]
