Glen Roy, Ohio
Glen Roy (or Glenroy) is an unincorporated community in Jackson County, in the U.S. state of Ohio.[1]
History
A post office called Glen Roy was established in 1883, the name was changed to Glenroy in 1893, and the post office closed in 1832.[2] The community derives its name from Andrew Roy, a state mining official who laid out the original town site.[3]
Notable person
Lefty James, a Major League Baseball pitcher, was born at Glen Roy in 1889.[4]
