Guildford West is a suburb of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Guildford West is located 26 kilometres west of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the Cumberland Council and is part of the Greater Western Sydney region.
Guildford West shares the postcode of 2161 with the separate suburbs of Guildford and Old Guildford.
Population
At the 2011 census, there were 4,420 residents in Guildford West. The median age of residents was 33 years and 23.7% of people were aged 14 years and under. Just over 60% of people were born in Australia, with the top other countries of birth being Lebanon, New Zealand and Iraq. About half of people spoke a language other than English at home. The other languages spoken included Arabic 25.6%, Italian 1.9% and Turkish 1.5%. The top responses for religious affiliation were Catholic 39.7%, Islam 14.7% and Anglican 13.4%.[1]
