Huntingfield is a suburb of the greater Hobart area, capital of Tasmania, Australia. It is just south of Kingston. The area was created in the late 1980s. Located in Huntingfield are Tarremah Steiner School and Kingborough Family Church.
Huntingfield from its inception was designed to be a "Showpiece of Tasmania" (reference from original design concept in the 1980's) - and was designed to not be a "suburb of little boxes" (citation original brochures from the design brief).
Huntingfield quickly won an award for its beautiful design and excellent use of curving streets and open grassy areas.
Huntingfield was designed to be a "Garden Concept" suburb, with visual beauty being at the forefront of design (citation - see original concept plans). Homes in Huntingfield were to be of different materials so as to create a mix of beauty and to avoid the "little boxes next to each other" that some other suburbs suffer from.
There are strict design parameters for homes in Huntingfield (citation - see original design brochures/plans/rules).
Huntingfield Residents tend to be long term, and are reluctant to leave due to the benefits of living in such a suburb. Huntingfield is an extremely safe suburb statistically, and some residents take home security very seriously, protecting the suburb immensely.
All information can be gained for citation through the original documents on the founding of Huntingfield.
Huntingfield is described as one of the more "leafy" and "beautifully" designed suburbs (as its original intent was) and residents of Huntingfield who chose to live in Huntingfield have benefited from the decision to hold the suburb to high standards and rules regarding keeping a grassy garden etc.
This award winning Suburb is as the original planners/designers wished (citation original Huntingfield design ethos) - a better place to live.
Also of benefit to Huntingfield Residents, the Residents of Huntingfield enjoy full Fiber Optic to the premises/home (FTTH - giving them WORLD CLASS Internet.
Water views of North West Bay, Peter Murrell Reserve, Upper Kingston (Redwood over a bushland valley) and Mt Wellington and farm paddocks close by surround Huntingfield's resident’s panoramic views.
