Indian Institute of Information Technology Vadodara (IIIT Vadodara) is one of the Indian Institutes of Information Technology located in Gujarat. At present, IIITV is operating from its temporary premises at Government Engineering College (Gandhinagar, Gujarat) till the time its new campus is made operational at Vadodara, Gujarat.[1] The institute is housed in a 50-acre campus and is built in Public Private Partnership mode.[2]
Indian Institute of Information Technology, Vadodara - first of its kind in Gujarat is established to cater to the emerging needs and opportunities and meet economic challenges being thrown by the incessant IT revolution. It is set up as a Not for Profit Public Private Partnership (PPP) model. It is a major initiative taken by Government of Gujarat to harness the multifarious dimension of IT Industry. The Government of Gujarat has lent support to the Institute by providing 50 acres of land and Building. It is aimed at providing future candidates who shall become a precursor in the field of IT. A Governing Council consisting of distinguished people from academia, industry and government preside over the governance of the institute.
Pedagogy
The institute is currently being mentored by Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology (DAIICT) which is one of the best IT institutions in the country. Students gain exposure to technology and both professional and field experiences through visiting faculties from the industry and mentoring exercises. The school's system of assessment is credit based and employs continuous evaluation through tests, surprise quizzes, home assignments, laboratory work, industry projects, and presentations. The school emphasizes independent study and self learning, problem solving and providing solutions for live problems. There are lectures and seminars by professionals from industry and research organizations. The Institute aims at evolving strong research programmes in a plethora of areas where IT shall provide a common link with profound emphasis on development of technology and its application.CS and IT are the two courses provided here .
