Karan Patel (born 23 November 1983) is an Indian television actor. Karan Patel began his career with the show, Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki in 2000. Currently he is seen in Ekta Kapoor's opposite Divyanka Tripathi. His Role as Raman Kumar Bhalla earned him ZEE Gold Awards for Best Actor (Popular) three years in a row (2014–16), Indian Television Academy Award 2015 for Best Romantic Actor (Male), Indian Telly Award for Best Actor in a Lead Role.

Karan married Ankita Bhargava on 3 May 2015 in Mumbai.[1][2]

Early life

Patel was born in Calcutta, 23 November 1983.[3][4] His father's name is Rashesh Patel.[5] He did his schooling at Utpal Shanghvi School in the Juhu suburb of Mumbai and graduated Mithibai College, Mumbai. He attended the Kishore Namit Kapoor Acting Institute and the University of the Arts London. He has also attended Shiamak Davar's dance classes.[6]

Career

Patel starred in the STAR Plus series Kasturi, where he played Robbie Sabarwal, his first lead role. Previously, he played a number of roles in Balaji Telefilms. His first role was in Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii where he played Vigyat. He has also worked in Kasautii Zindagii Kay and Kasamh Se.[7] In 2008 he debuted as host by anchoring a new show Kaho Na Yaar Hai.[8] Currently he is working in Yeh Hai Mohabbatein; as Raman Kumar Bhalla. Indian soap opera Yeh Hai Mohabbatein[9] This role earned him numerous awards such as, ZEE Gold Awards for Best Actor (Popular) three years in a row (2014–16),[10][11][12] Indian Television Academy Award for Best Romantic Actor (Male) in 2015,[13] Indian Telly Award for Best Actor in a Lead Role,[14] STAR Parivaar Awards for Best jodi three years in a row with Divyanka Tripathi (2014–16).[15][16][17]
