List of Asian Academy Award winners and nominees
This is a list of Academy Award winners and nominees who have Asian ancestry. Since Hollywood is an American industry, this article will use the term Asian as defined by the United States Census Bureau: "people having origins in any of the original peoples of the Far East, Southeast Asia, or the Indian subcontinent (for example, Cambodia, China, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Pakistan, the Philippine Islands, Thailand, and Vietnam)".[1] In the category of Best Foreign Language Film, this list also includes films submitted by Asian countries and films in an Asian language, in addition to films with an Asian director.
This list is current as of the nominees for the 88th Academy Awards which were announced on January 14, 2016.
