Takao arrives and snaps, challenging him to a battle at 3:00 by the river next day. A boy named Kyojyu (real name Manabu Saien; named Kenny "The Chief" in the English dub and the versions based on it) becomes friends with Takao, and they realize that they need a faster Beyblade to defeat Hiruta' heavier one. Takao attempts and almost gives up until he has a vision of the Great Dragoon Spirit, a power that has been in the family from generations. With new inspiration, Takao defeats Hiruta with a newly developed technique. Before Hiruta can escape with his stolen Beyblades, his leader Kai appears and strikes him down for his failure. The Dark Bladers, who have held Kyojyu hostage at the stands, announce they have given up their evil plans. Daitokuji Kaichou (president of the BBA (Bey Battle Association), named Dickinson in the English dub and the versions based on it), appears and reveals that he was the old man who tricked them into missing their boat, as part of a plan to force them to explore Europe and its talented beybladers.

The Bladebreakers arrive in Moscow on a brisk winter's day in anticipation of the World Beyblading final tournament. As they search for their hotel in the chilly city, they happen upon Boris, a strange man who claims to be the head of a rather eerie Beyblading training center. With the charm of an old world count, Boris invites them to lunch and them brings them to the training facility where they meet the next generation of Beybladers. It's here where Boris decides that one of his pupils should test his blading skills against Takao. The Bladebreakers are led into a rather stark, castle-like chamber which houses nothing more than a Beystadium and there Takao takes on a young kid named Alexander. At first the battle is in favour of Alexander, but Takao quickly turns the tide with Kai's advice and wins with his patented Phantom Hurricane Attack. After the match, Alexander's Beyblade is crushed under Boris' foot and the young lad is dragged off in disgrace much to the confusion of the Bladebreakers who quickly leave. At the end of the episode, Kai vows to return.

The Bladebreakers attempt to enter the abbey to track down their missing teammate, but are denied access by two of its bladers, Ian and Yuri Ivanov (Tala in the English dub and the versions based on it), under orders to stall them. After fighting his way through the tunnels, Kai discovers the existence of Black Dranzer, the world's most powerful Beyblade. Boris offers it to him - but only if Kai quits the Bladebreakers forever and rejoins the Biovolt Corporation. Flooded with memories of using Black Dranzer as a child, and the lure of its dark, corrupting power leads Kai to accept Black Dranzer and rejoin Biovolt. Yuri and Ian are then ordered to tell the Bladebreakers that Kai was caught sneaking around the facility and got a fever for staying too long out in the cold.

It's the first day of the Beyblade World Championships in Moscow, and as the Bladebreakers leave their hotel, they still haven't been able to locate Kai who's been missing for some time now. Regardless, they arrive at the tournament and meet up with both the White Tigers and the All Starz who invite them to watch their first match against the Neo Borg (Demolition Boys in the English dub and the versions based on it), the reigning World Champions. At first things seem fairly normal, that is, until they start to battle. Ian and Yuri defeat Steve and Eddie respectively, with Yuri going as far as not having to make any move, he simply repels Trypio when it comes to touch his beyblade Wolborg. In the next match, Michael has to square off against a mystery member of the Neo Borg and it turns out to be none other than Kai, who has defected from the Bladebreakers. In the final battle, Kai takes on all the All Starz at once and wins with just one hit for every opponent. After his victory, he captures all his adversaries' Bit Beasts announces to the world that he now possesses the most powerful Beyblade ever.

Determined to avenge the All Starz's devastating defeat, the White Tigers are the next to face the Neo Borg in the Tournament. Kai is arrogant towards Yuri and the others, which makes them grow disgusted of him. Kai demands Boris to send him alone to the battle, and, one by one, he beats and captures every White Tigers Bit Beasts, except for Kevin's Galmon, since he previously tried to talk his team mates out of facing Kai, and is as such the only one not to fight. The Bladebreakers storm the abbey in a desperate attempt to free Kai. Takao stumbles into Biovolt's secret lab and learns the truth about Kai's past from a gloating Boris. Takao refuses to give up on his friend until Kai hands over his old Dranzer and tells him to leave. In tears, Takao shows Kai's former beyblade to his team mates and tell them that Kai is over for them.

While the Bladebreakers prepare for the finals, they are approached by a man in a suit who tells them that Kai demands to meet them at a frozen Lake Baikal. All of them go except for Max, who is at the airport meeting his mother. At the lake, Kai despise his former team mates and challenges them for a battle. Takao, Rei and even Kyojyu face him altogether, but are all easily defeated. When Kai is just about to steal Takao's Dragoon, Max parachutes from his mother private plane and launches his newly improved Draciel, which is able to hold on even when Kai unleashes an all-out attack with his eight bit beasts. While Max keeps Kai busy, Takao takes the chance to launch Dranzer. Combining the powers of the four Bladebreakers Bit Beasts, Kai's former team mates are finally able to defeat Black Dranzer. While he regrets his own loss, the ice around him begins to break and he is just about to fall into the cold water below. However, the Bladebreakers urge him to jump to safety, and he finally jumps back and asks for forgiveness. He then boards the helicopter that brought the Baldebreakers to the lake and goes back to the Abbey, where he intends to "make things right".

Now that Kai is finally loyal to the 'Bladebreakers', he returns Black Dranzer to Boris, doing severe damage to the enemy headquarters in the process. Voltaire orders the operation to proceed and have the Neo Borg them capture the stolen bit beasts from Black Dranzer's blade. Meanwhile, Kai tells the Bladebreakers everything he knows about Biovolt Corporation and reveals that the company is creating a breed of powerful Bit-Beasts that are designed for war and the plan is to use them to take over the entire World. Soon after, Kaichou, Ryu and Takao's father (Mr. Kinomiya) enter the room and Mr. Kinomiya informs them that he had been hired by Kaichou to do some archaeological research on Bit Beasts. Eventually, he was approached by Boris, who informed him that he was carrying out some scientific research and figured out how to design Bit Beasts out of the DNA of real creatures. Mr. Kinomiya was then contacted by the Russian police and learned that Boris was connected to Voltaire, the president of the international Biovolt Corporation and suspected of managing a top secret criminal organization within it. He then contacted Kaichou. Mr. Kinomiya then confirms that Voltaire is willing to take over the World and that BBA has been investigating him. Kai then reveals that Voltaire is his grandfather and that's why he was raised in the Abbey. Afterwards, the Neo Borg attack the BBA bus. Max battles Ian, but the two other members of the team, Sergei (Spencer in the English dub and the versions based on it) and another unnamed one join in and Sergei easily knocks him out, stealing Draciel in the process.

November 26, 2001May 10, 2003
The Bladebreakers are stranded on the barren Russian Tundra after their run-in with the Neo Borg when Oliver and Enrique mysteriously show up in a bus. After picking them up, they are mysteriously forced to stop in front of an abandoned palace where Ralf challenges Takao to battle. At first it seems strange that Ralf would do this, but Takao accepts and a battle ensues with Takao losing two straight. He becomes infuriated! Ralf then tells Takao that he must harness his power back into his blade, which totally confuses Takao. Finally, max tells Takao to remember the battle he had against Ralf back in his stadium. That's where Takao realised he must work together with his Bit Beast. With this knowledge, a third battle takes place and Takao defeats Ralf. In the end, Kaichou reveals he set this whole 'lesson' up to get the Bladebreakers ready for the final match with the Neo Borg. Without accessing their 'power from within', the Bladebreakers wouldn't stand a chance against the Neo Borg in the finals at the World Championships.

"Kai's Selection" (カイの選択)
December 3, 2001May 11, 2003
The World Championship Finals are about to begin and Kai insists on Beybattling first, hoping his knowledge of the Neo Borg will give him an advantage over the Neo Borg' first fighter, Sergei. But in the first set of the best-of-three match, Seaborg, Sergei's whale Bit Beast, uses the water in the Black Sea Bowl to create a tsunami, which overwhelms Dranzer. Kai is desperate for victory and Voltaire makes him a tempting offer: the power of Black Dranzer in exchange for betraying his friends and stealing their Bit Beasts. Kai puts Black Dranzer's Bit chip in his beyblade, but he unleashes Dranzer instead and launches his special attack towards Sergei's Wolborg. However, his power is not enough and he loses the second round, with Dranzer being captured next. Despite Sergei's victory, Voltaire is angry and vows to destroy Kai and his team mates for betraying him and not using Black Dranzer.

After Kai's first round loss to the Neo Borg in the World Beyblade Finals, it's Rei's turn to take on Bryan - the unnamed fourth member of the Neo Borg, introduced as a powerful and ruthless competitor who has learned to "block all emotions but hate". Rei learns the hard way that Bryan will do anything to win - including putting Rei himself through the wringer by having pieces of the stadium being thrown towards him via the rapidly spinning center of the dish. Bryan's attack includes the ability to manipulate air itself into a weapon, and he easily throws Rei out of the dish with a minor move. In the second round, Bryan uses the wind to hit Rei directly, but Rei keeps holding on and eventually beats Bryan. However, he faints just afterwards in front of a confident Bryan due to the energy used to hold on. In the third and decisive round, Rei is hit several times until he is pushed away from the dish. After seeing Driger holding on against Fallborg and remembering of his friends' words of motivation, he musters up some strength, have Drigger shield him and unleashes his final attack, shattering Fallborg to pieces and bringing the finals to a tie. He faints just afterwards, badly injured, but wakes up in time to realize he won just as he is taken to the hospital.

After a devastating match puts Rei in the hospital, Takao trains his heart out to prepare for his battle against Yuri, leader of the Neo Borg. Meanwhile, Yuri has become one of Boris' weird experiments, uploaded with dangerous Biovolt technology and transformed in a cyborg: Cyborg Yuri. Max's parents work together to come up with an improved Beyblade that can combat the existing threat of the Neo Borg' prowess. Using Judy's vast data on Dragoon, Max's father builds an upgraded version of Dragoon. In the first round of the final match, even though Yuri uses multiple Bit Beasts plus his newly improved brain, he "chooses to lose" and Takao wins the first round. In the next round, Yuri unleashes a massive freezing attack that sends them both to a parallel dimension and warps the dish in a huge ice block.

December 24, 2001August 24, 2003
With no contact with the outside world (though the cameras are still able to shoot images through the thick wall of ice), the second round begins, and it takes little time for Yuri to combine his multiple Bit Beasts into one and tie the score at 1-1 in the best of three finals. Meanwhile, Voltaire looks on and begins celebrating the victory, while, Judy assembles Kevin and the Majestiks, the only bladers who still have their Bit Beasts, in order to defeat Yuri in case Takao loses. With the second round lose, Takao has fallen into a funk and sees no way of winning, when Dragoon suddenly starts to talk to him. With a new outlook and positive thinking, Takao's confidence translates into a more powerful Dragoon, which handily defeats Yuri and ruins Voltaire's and Boris' plans. With the win, all the stolen Bit Beasts are returned to their owners and in the end, Takao's friends gather around each wanting to take on the new World Champion Beyblader.

Back at Kai's prep school a curious student named Minami (Wyatt in the English dub and versions based upon it) is all over Kai trying to get him to come out of retirement and show him a few pointers on how to blade. Kai ignores him until an unnamed beyblader starts attacking Kai to force him out of his retirement. Kai tries to hide Dranzer, but Minami steals it to battle the unnamed beyblader. Little does Takao know that Snakey is being used as bait so that Gideon can collect data on Dragoon. Takao accepts the challenge but it looks like he might lose until Kai appears and offers some much-needed support. Takao releases Dragoon and after an intense battle he knocks Snakey's Blade out of the stadium and wins the match. It produces a magnetic field similar to the one in the Magtram technology, giving the beyblader optimal control over their Beyblade and increasing the Beyblade's power ten fold. However, it's not an easy thing to control, and the guys have a rough start. Hiromi and Kyojyu come up with a "back to the basics" practice schedule, but Takao is initially reluctant to follow a beginner's training program and ends up insulting Hiromi. The Bladebreakers start following their own training program but are still unable to control their beyblades with only three days left. Kai decides to give Hiromi's schedule a try and manages to regain full control of Dranzer. His other team mates are also successful and Takao apologizes to Hiromi, The Bladebreakers and Hiromi are ready to take on Team Psykick and board the bus to the battle. Meanwhile, Kaichou discovers that there was never a tournament booked for the stadium he went to, and the bus company never charted a bus for the Bladebreakers. Ozuma and Dunga (the mysterious beyblader who challenged Kai and convinced him out of his retirement) overhear the conversation from behind a corner and discuss their next moves. Back at the island, the Bladebreakers try to find a way out of the island, but are eventually forced to fight Chameleon, who specifically picks Max for a fight. His beyblade is able to change its colour just like a chameleon, but Max manages to defeat it by calling upon Draciel. Because Takao's ankle is sprained, Rei steps up to the plate. He almost loses Driger to his opponent, but Takao's quick thinking helps him win. 18 March 200214 October 2003
Kai and Figel fight on top of a bridge while Kyojyu tries to hack into Psykick's system in order to shut down the bit-beast capturing mechanisms. He makes it, but Kai manages to defeat his opponent without having to bring Dranzer out, anyway. Kyojyu, Kai and Hiromi then resume their quest to the lighthouse to get a clear satellite signal to get help from the outside. Finally they make contact, but not before they return to find Takao in battle against another member of Team Psykick, Daryl, the one who defeated a BBA training beyblader and earned the right for Psykick to challenge the Bladebreakers. Because Takao's ankle is still hurt, he starts the battle in disadvantage, a condition that is worsened by the fact that the stadium is wet due to a waterfall next to it, but Deryl's blade is unaffected since it has a spraying mechanism at the bottom tip of it. Hiromi and the others try to talk Takao out of the fight before he gets a permanent bruise, but Takao is determined to take the victory and get away from the island. In the end, Takao pulls off a win, sets Dragoon free from the bit-beast capturing mechanism and the island's laboratory is destroyed. Doctor B and his team flee by boat. Soon after, Daitokuji Kaichou and Takao's grandfather arrive in a helicopter to rescue the kids, and Ozuma and Dunga are seen on the island, relieved that the Bladebreakers are safe and that they "won't have anyone else interfere with their plans".

"Howl! Dranzer" (吠えろ! ドランザー)
25 March 200214 October 2003

Kaichou goes to the hospital to meet the Bladebreakers and they ask him to help them finding Ozuma, Dunga and the other two beybladers who defeated Rei and Max, while being watched from afar by Ozuma himself, which Kai almost notices. Meanwhile Gideon, disappointed with Doctor B's failed attempts to capture the Bladebreakers bit-beasts, demands that he and his team create their own bit-beasts - Cyber bit-beasts - using the data they have gathered on the Blade Breakers. Across town, Ozuma and Dunga meet their team mates Mariam and Yusufu (Max's and Rei's opponents, respectively. Yusufu was named Joseph in the English dub and the versions based on it; they are respectively the English and Japanese variations of Yossef) and plot their own strategy to get the Bladebreakers bit-beasts before Psykick. Eventually, Mariam picks on Dunga for being the only one who failed to defeat his opponent and Dunga goes for Kai in a rage to settle his account with the Bladebreaker. This creates a good opportunity for Psykick to get some missing data from Dranzer, since they failed to study it at the island due to Kyojyu hacking into their system and Kai defeating Figel without even calling upon his bit-beast. Dunga heads for Takao's house and lures Kai to a beystadium under a bridge while Gideon's henchmen record the whole event. Eventually, the group realizes they are being watched, but Ozuma destroys the camera with his beyblade, forcing the two men in black to flee, unaware that Yusufu has hidden under their van. The camera's explosion damages the bridge and the debris disturb the match, which ends in another draw. Dunga leaves and, despite the destruction of the camera, Doctor B's team still manage to acquires the necessary data to create the Cyber bit-beasts.

But the Doctor's first test ends in a failure and he goes insane while an unimpressed Gideon leaves. Yusufu takes the information to the rest of his team - now introduced as the Saint Shileds - and it is revealed that he and Mariam are siblings. Yusufu thinks of a way to prepare the Bladebreakers to face the cyber bit-beasts. As for the Bladebreakers, they learn that the Saint Shields are all in the vicinity. With the Psykicks still after them as well, the Bladebreakers hold a full-on practice to prepare themselves for all potential threats. During their session, Max is lured away by Mariam, who initiates a battle with him in the woods that's secretly being observed by the other Saint Shields. Yusufu soon joins in, outnumbering Max. Rei finds them and interrupts the battle. Together, the four combatants start a two-on-two beybattle which ends with Max and Rei losing decisively as a result of Mariam and Yusufu's heightened team play. Ozuma and Dunga come out of their hiding and the group prepares to leave, but Takao arrives and challenges Ozuma for a third battle.

Ozuma accepts Takao's challenge and they fight at the Saint Shield's warehouse. As it rages on, Takao is forced to call out his Victory Tornado Attack in order to win. After the fight, Ozuma flippantly tells Takao he needs to "improve his bit-beast technique". Meanwhile, Gideon oversees Doctor B who unveils the first stable Cyber bit-beast. This cloned power from the sacred bit-beasts has been compressed into one blade. Doctor B then introduces Gerry, one of the best Bladers Team Psykick has to offer and the one that was picked to control the Cyber bit-beast. The scientist also introduce the Cyber Launcher, a launcher with all data collected from beybladers from all the World. Gideon wants to have the beyblade tested before it engages in a battle against the Bladebreakers, so they enroll Gerry in a local tournament. Gerry reaches the semi-finals and draws out the Cyber Beast in battle to see how it handles. The Bladebreakers show up at the same tournament after an invitation of Kaichou just as Gerry calls out his bit-beast. The Beast goes totally out of control and self destructs, knocking Gerry out. Psykick's men in black break into the stadium, collect Gerry and the blade and flee. Takao and the Bladebreakers watch and Ozuma is seen behind a wall, checking on the situation.

15 April 20024 November 2003
The Blade Breakers discuss the bit-beast they've seen at the tournament. Kyojyu consults his laptop and realizes the bit-beast is a digital copy of Dragoon made of data from the Bladebreakers bit-beasts. This motivates the team to get themselves in shape for battle, and Hiromi takes the chance to ask them to show her the bit-beasts - which she had always been unable to see. The Saint Shields are still eager to test the power of the Blade Breakers' bit-beasts as well, so they head to the beach where Takao and the others are training and ultimately make their presence known. Rei challenges Yusufu for a rematch. Just when it looks like Rei's bit-beast Driger is going down, he manages to pull off some impressive moves and win the match. Everyone is ecstatic, especially Hiromi because she's finally able to see the bit-beasts. At Psykick's labs, Doctor B is busy experimenting with the Cyber bit-beasts. His first shown attempt is another failure, but he eventually succeeds and manages to get two Cyber bit-beasts to keep stable and battle each other.

As the Bladebreakers continue their training program, Kai's classmate Minami returns and begs Kai to help him train to become a first-class Beyblader. Remembering the time back at school that Minami betrayed Kai by stealing Dranzer and using it in battle against Dunga, Kai turns him down. Hurt, Minami vows to return and defeat Kai one day. Because Gideon has finally approved Doctor B's Cyber bit-beast program, Psykick is searching for beybladers willing to give the new system a try. Doctor B approaches Minami with an offer to join Team Psykick, and Minami jumps at the chance. When his training is complete, Minami is sent to battle Kai, with the hopes of capturing his bit-beast. Despite warnings from Ozuma, Takao and the gang are ready for a fight, but Dunga jumps in and challenges Minami to fight him instead. The new bit-beast wins over Dunga's Vortex Ape, but Minami goes insane and eventually dies in Kai's arms (this scene is omitted from the English dub and the versions based on it, and it is instead implied that he went insane). The Saint Shields leave and tell the Bladebreakers to be more serious about their next warnings. Gideon and Doctor B are pleased with the bit-beast's performance and are eager to find another skilled blader. Kai vows to make them pay for Minami 's death.

But Takao gets angry and decides to quit the training program. Everyone gets in an argument until they simply decide to call the Bladebreakers' quits. In order to keep the team together, Hiromi suggests they should take a day off and invites them to an afternoon barbecue with Grandpa playing the part of the Chef. At first Takao wants nothing to do with it, but finally he relents and joins in. Meanwhile, a foursome of beybladers arrive at the airport and save a beyblade from being run over. Back at the barbecue, the kids relax by the river after eating while Grandpa fishes. Suddenly he hooks a big one and gets dragged in the water. After a fierce fight, it ends in a tie and the new kids leave, with their leader introducing himself as Kane. Soon after, the new team arrives at Psykick's headquarters, where they are greeted by Gideon and Doctor B, who show them the new Cyber bit-beast-powered beybldes. Kane, as well as his friends (introduced as Goki, Jim and Salima) were brought back home in order to form the new Team Psykick. Kane, Goki, Jim, and Salima arrive at Doctor B's lab to begin battle tests for Gideon. Jim goes first after being given his new Beyblade, Cyber Draciel. He battles against a lopsided number of automated Beybades, including one behemoth the size of a football. But with Cyber Draciel in tow, victory is decisive. However, the Cyber Bit-Beast's power is having a corrupting influence on Jim. At Kaichou's office, the Bladebreakers are blackmailed into a future battle against the Psykick's when Doctor B threatens an all-out assault on the city by the Cyber Bit-Beasts. When Takao hears that his new friend Kane has joined the Psykick's, he refuses to believe it without concrete proof. Together with Kyojyu, Hiromi, Rei and Max, and with some information from Ozuma, Takao sneaks into Doctor B's lab, though Max is left outside just as they approach the building. There, they come upon a fight between an arrogant Jim and Goki, whose blade is easily destroyed by Cyber Draciel, which is more powerful than Draciel itself and is even able to evolve to higher levels of strength. It's confirmed that Kane and his friends have indeed been recruited by the Psykick. Takao tries to talk Kane out of using a cyber bit beast, but that reveals the Bladebreakers' position and they are searched by the guards. Kai, alerted by Max, makes a timely arrival and saves their skins. Having noticed the negative effect of the Cyber Bit-Beasts on their users, Kane, Goki and Salima are wary about using them. Kane refuses Doctor B's offer to have his own Cyber Bit-Beast, insisting that his upcoming battle with Takao be on even terms.

13 May 20024 October 2003
After seeing the power of the Cyber bit-beasts in Team Psykick's BeyBlades, Takao vows to do whatever it takes to beat them. Even if that means breaking the rules and modifying his own Beyblade illegally, which his friends are initially against, specially Rei, who protests and demands that the Bladebreakers play fair even if the odds are against them. At the Psykicks' lab, Goki is the second to give in to the power of the Cyber bit-beasts. He is given the Cyber Dranzer and tests it against Jim. Rei and Salima go out for a walk and eventually meet each other by a river, where they find out both feel the same way. Rei tries to convince his friends to forfeit the match. Rei gets to the meeting point, but Salima is not there, since she was caught by Kane trying to take a cyber bit-beast. Instead, Kai shows up and talks to Rei about the upcoming match and how they should do whatever it takes in order to win and avenge Minami's death. Back at the Psykicks', Kane convinces Salima to accept cer Cyber bit-beast and confront the Bladebreakers, so that they can prove they will not be controlled by the creatures. Rei waits until the early morning, but since Salime didn't show up, Rei changes his mind and decides to accept the challenge. Meanwhile, the Saint Shields discuss the situation and Ozuma decides to intervene in Takao's attitude.

20 May 20025 October 2003
Kyojyu unveils Takao's new Dragoon, equipped with illegal modifications, as Takao requested in the previous episode. But because his blade now has too much offensive power, Takao is unable to control it and he blames Kyojyu. His friends try to tell him cheating isn't the way to win, yet Takao ignores them and goes off to sulk about his dilemma. Meanwhile, the Psykick's are with Doctor B who informs them that he just wants to do some last minute finishing touches on their cyber bit-beasts. Both Kane and Salima protest saying, they feel they are more important as players than any cyber bit-beast. But once they go into battle and feel the raw cyber power, they are immediately hooked and want more. When Gideon is finally convinced that the four bladers are ready to face the challenge, he leaves the room and talks to a shadowy male figure through video conference, bowing before him and informing that the program is going as planned. Meanwhile, Takao is still trying to get a hold of his new illegal Dragoon just as Ozuma walks up. He challenges Takao for a fight and intends to "teach him a lesson". Takao is still unable to fully control his beyblade and Dragoon even ignores him when he tries to bring it out. Ozuma then makes his final move, severely damaging Dragoon. Takao finally understands that cheating is wrong and apologizes to his friends.

"The Battle Tower Conspiracy" (バトルタワーの陰謀)
27 May 200211 October 2003
The Bladebreakers travel by helicopter together with Kyojyu, Hiromi and Kaichou to their re-match against the Psykick's while the Saint Shields watch from afar and decide to follow them. During the flight, Hiromi remembers how Psykick trapped her and Kyojyu on a cargo ship; Max ponders their recent training; Kai regrets the Psykick' mistreatment of Minami; Rei recalls the time Salima reached out to him; and Takao remains bitter about Kane joining Psykick. Gideon is seen talking to the shadowy figure, now introduced as Dr Zagart. When they arrive at the battle location - a five-story, monolithic building called 'The Battle Tower' - Gideon finally introduces himself to them via video screen, and outlines the format. On each floor, one Psykick awaits a different Bladebreaker, and each match will be a one-match-only sudden death battle, which Kaichou objects but ultimately accepts when the Bladebreakers say they will not be intimidated by Gideon. When the video screen is turned off, a squad of 'Blade Bruiser' Meka-Shooters launches a hailstorm of beyblades. the Bladebreakers revel in thwarting the threat - until they realize its only a plot to weaken their blades before the real battles. More Blade Bruisers join the fray, but a surprise appearance by the Saint Shields helps them escape the ground floor and ascend the tower. Kaichou stays behind, too scared to go through the beyblade war. On the second floor, they're confronted by Jim, who faces off against Max while the rest of the Baldebreakers are imprisoned within a glass cage. Cyber Draciel overpowers its Bit-Beast progenitor, but Max's determination spurs a comeback and the cyber-copy is defeated. However, Psykick has set a cyber bit-beast repairing machine that restores the fallen Cyber Draciel.

However, Cyber Draciel is repaired again and Jim wants another match. Even though everyone warns him against it, Max goes back for another round. His team mates then decide to destroy the cyber bit-beast repairing system, but the glass cage trapping them is too resistant. Meanwhile, the Saint Shileds are off to the second floor after overcoming the robots. Doctor B tries to stop them, but only manages to separate them from Kaichou. Back at the battle zone, Max keeps ignoring his friends' advices and attacks Jim with everything he's got. In the end, he loses and Draciel is captured and placed in a holding tank in front of the shocked team of the Saint Shields, who had just arrived. Furious that Max lost his bit-beast, Dunga punches him in the face (this is omitted the English dub and versions based on it) and is subsequently held by Takao and Rei and then reprehended by Hiromi. Takao and the others come to Max's side and vow to win Draciel back for him no matter what. The Saint Shields start searching for Draciel but are tricked into falling down a deep pitch. They manage to grab some pipes and survive. The Bladebreakers reach for the third floor, a cave-like stadium, where Rei is shocked to find Salima waiting for him.

Frustrated with Rei's attitude, Salima attacks him with more and more power. When Kai shows him the beastless Max's beyblade and tells him that he is letting those responsible for Draciel's capture win, he fights back and the match ends in a draw. Salima immediately demands a rematch. Rei is still reluctant and thinks Salima is not really willing to fight him but eventually accepts to battle. Doctor B decides to intervene and activates some ventilators that generate strong winds within the battlefield, affecting the battle and putting Rei in disadvantage. Salima protests and has her Cyber bit-beast destroy the fans' generator. Doctor B still tries to put her in advantage and start enlarging Cyber Driger. This makes Salima more powerful than Rei, but she appears unable to control such power. Eventually, she tells Rei why she didn't meet him as they agreed, but keeps trying to resist Cyber Driger's power. Rei keeps battling and finally wins. As Salima leaves the field, Rei and the others try to convince her not to come back to the Psykicks, but she leaves anyway, frustrated. "Phantom in The Fog" (霧の中の幻)
24 June 200226 October 2003
The Bladebreakers reach the fourth level of Gideon's Battle Tower and meet their next opponent, Goki. Meanwhile, tension grows between Gideon and Doctor B. The scientist guarantees to his boss that he still has some surprises, such as using the information gathered from the previous two beybattles, Doctor B has programmed Driger and Draciel's attack patterns into Goki's beyblade. Meanwhile, the Saint Shields continue to explore the Psykick's headquarters in an attempt to find Max's captured Draciel. But Dunga's impatience sets off the alarms, alerting Gideon to their presence at last. Doctor B has the system enlarge Cyber Dranzer the same way he did with Cyber Driger, but Kai still manages to pull out a draw even though he is still confused about who he is facing: Goki or Minami, whose death still haunts him. Kai reveals that he thinks he's facing Minami in the match, and can't bring himself to fight. Takao warns Kai that Doctor B is taking advantage of his guilt to launch a psychic assault during the match. Kai is almost eliminated when Goki overplays his role as the "ghostly" Minami and gives Kai the key to breaking his psychic hold. Kai and Dranzer destroy Goki's Cyber Dranzer in a spectacular counter-move. Thanks to his friends, Kai has finally laid his guilt to rest.
25 "Raising Kane!!"
"Electric Holy Beast NO.4" (電撃聖獣NO.4)
1 July 20021 November 2003
Following his defeat, Goki is thrown into a glass cage together with Salima, as a punishment for losing. Gideon is even more disappointed with Doctor B, but the scientist guarantees Kane will not fail. The Bladebreakers arrive at the top and last floor, where Takao is expected to face Kane. As with the previous battles, Doctor B sets a system to put Kane in unfair advantage: a recharging mechanism just above the stadium which Kane is easily able to reach by activating a jumping mechanism in the bottom tip of his beyblade. The fight is fierce from the get-go but as it progresses, Takao manages to get under Kane's skin by telling him the only way to win is by using one's skill, not relying on a manufactured bit-beast. Takao's words hit a chord with Kane and he decides not to call out the Cyber Dragoon to fight for him. Instead, he wants to win it on his own. Gideon and Doctor B are incensed, but because Kane wants to win so badly, he summons up enough energy for Doctor B to force Cyber Dragoon out of the beyblade. Kane orders the scientist to stop, but his will to win eventually brings it out. The beast grows beyond control and puts Takao in clear disadantage. Meanwhile, Ozuma and his gang are lost within the massive building and frantically split up to race and find Draciel.

"The Shivering Cyber" (戦慄のサイバー)
8 July 20022 November 2003
Kane's Cyber bit-beast keeps growin in size and strength, and it even has the ability to copy Dragoon's moves and improve on them. Cyber Dragoon grows so powerful that it starts releasing energy shock waves which damages the stadium and the building's system. It also starts controlling his mind, driving him insane and changing his personality. The energy waves get stronger and reach the control room where Gideon, Doctor B, the rest of Team Psykick and a couple of scientists are overseeing the mathes. Gideon demand Doctor B to do something and Salima takes the chance to escape, since her cage was destroyed. With the odds against him, Takao reluctantly tells Dragoon to get back to its beyblade, but the bit-beast summons the strength to continue the fight. This inspires Takao and he vows to defeat the demented Kane at any cost. Salima reaches the battle room and tries to talk Kane out of succumbing to Cyber Dragoon, but he simply ignores her and fights back. She tries to convince him a second time but now Kane answers by having Cyber Dragoon knock Salima several meters away. This enrages Takao, who wows to defeat him. The Saint Shields are shown in a couple of unsuccessful attempts to reach for Draciel and the Bladebreakers.

Ozuma reaches the fifth floor and finds Takao and Kane carrying on with their furious battle, with Cyber Dragoon growing stronger and damaging the building. Kane succumbs as his energy is being drained by his bit-beast and he is losing control over it. As Cyber Dragoon grows, it looks more and more like Takao is about to lose, when Kai tells him the only way to get rid of the Cyber bit-beast is for Takao to destroy it. Takao musters up all his power and in one fell swoop, Dragoon destroys its doppelganger and Zagart is shown moving away from the video screen he was using to watch the battles. However, Cyber Dragoon's power has compromised the building's structure and it begins to collapse. An insane Doctor B tries to have the whole building destroyed at once, but Gideon stops him, tackling him towards a damaged computer in the process. Doctor B is subsequently electrocuted to death and soon after Gideon is also killed by fallen debris, (both instances are drastically shortened in the English dub and versions based upon it). The Bladebreakers, Kane and Salima are soon joined by Goki, Jim and Kaichou, but Max realizes his Draciel is still being held captive in the lab. Max races back inside followed closely by Takao. Once inside the lab, they meet up with Ozuma and his gang who had just set Draciel free and Max orders it to return to his beyblade. Everyone manages to leave the building in safety. Just when they try to thank Ozuma for all the support, the Saint Shields reveal they have never been on the same side and Ozuma says that "the day is coming when the Bladebreakers ' bit-beasts will be theirs". Before they can understand what's going on, Kane and his friends thank them for the help and leave.

Just as they leave the airport, however, Judy takes them to the BBA research lab where she shows them an ancient rock, covered in mysterious writing. Judy reveals that not only is the rock believed to hold the secret of the bit-beasts, but an organized crime syndicate is plotting to steal it. A test battle is fought, using a bit containing a piece of the rock but the power it produces is far too unstable. The blader who performed the test turns out to be Max's school friend, Alan, and the two pals make plans to enter a Beyblade tournament scheduled for the next day. But that night, the rock is stolen by Alan himself and two men. The Bladebreakers are informed of it just as Judy unveils the newly repaired Driger and Dranzer. Arriving at the BBA facility, Takao grabs a bike and sets off in hot pursuit, using a practice blade to blow out the getaway car's tire. The thieves take off on foot and Max runs into them only to discover that his pal, Alan, is in on the plot.

Alan tells Max that if Max wins, he'll explain why he agreed to be part of the plot to steal the rock. The battle is heated and Max is determined to win. After one draw and several close calls, Max finally wins with his new Draciel Viper built by his father. In the end Alan explains that he was approached by the blond woman (who is shown at the airport taking a wig off, revealing her true black hair, and taking off with the rock) who convinced him if he stole the rock she would give him a new, more powerful Beyblade. Dickinson recalls Zagart being obsessed with the rock. The last time he saw Zagart was the day before he went missing. At a science lab, the mysterious woman who took the rock from New York City is seen as a scientist working for Zagart. She is just about to complete her analysis on the rock, which reveals several different creatures sealed in it. The researches make it to extract one foxy-like beast from the rock and place it into a beyblade. After a quick battle with Kyojyu and his new "Einstein" Beyblade, Takao realizes he still has to learn how to control his new Beyblade, Dragoon V2. While practicing down by the river, he is challenged to a battle by Ozuma and the Saint Shields. When asked why they want to steal the four bit-beasts, Ozuma simply answers that this is their "mission". Takao accepts the challenge and manages to hold his own until the entire Saint Shields clan gangs up on him. It looks like all is lost until a mysterious stranger steps in to save the battle and the day. The Saint Shields vow to return and fulfill their mission to capture and seal the four Bit-Beasts. Meanwhile Dr. Zagart and Dr. K have designed a new powerful Blade using the rock, and they've chosen a Blader named Foxy to challenge the Bladebreakers. Zeo takes Takao for a visit at the beyblade gym where he trains. Meanwhile, Foxy breks into Takao's hause an attacks Rei, Hiromi and Kyojyu. Rei challenges him and they fight in a local park where Kai joins the audience. 19 August 200216 November 2003
The Bladebreakers try to figure out who or what was behind his attack, and how it all tied into the mysterious rock. Kyojyu finds out that the bit-beast used against Driger was certainly extracted from the rock. Meanwhile, Takao reaches a breaking point, discouraged and upset by the constant attempts of fanatic groups trying to steal the sacred bit-beasts. His anxiety goes overboard when he coaxes Kyojyu to create a wacky training platform for the team to practice with. He takes his jaded attitude out on Zeo, who simply wants to spar with one of the greats. At the Psykick's facilities, tension grows between Zagart and Doctor K. While the first wants deeper studies to better understand the rock and why Foxy was defeated, the latter prefers to keep extracting bit-beasts from it. Zagart ultimately orders Doctor K to follow his orders and she ends up instructing her assistant to secretly carry on with her persona project. Takao starts training Zeo and coaches him so he can pass his Beyblading exam. Meanwhile, the Saint Shields' frustration level grows, as Ozuma decides that it is time for them to start stealing the four bit-beasts.

"The Saint Shields" (セント·シールズ)
26 August 200216 November 2003
Daitokuji Kaichou deciphers the words that are carved onto the mysterious rocks and reads the kids this warning; "Dare not disturb this stone, for here, the bit-beasts are sealed", written in a dialect that dates back to the ancient China times. Dickinson shows them a picture taken at the only place in the world where such language is still spoken, and the kids realize the people depicted are wearing the same type of clothing as the Saint Shields. The decide to go after the team to ask questions. Yusufu takes them to Ozuma among the woods and he reveals the history of the bit-beasts to the Bladebreakers, telling them of their origin ten thousand years ago as benevolent spirits until evil men discovered how to control them and use them for their own malicious needs. The Saint Shields' ancestors have tried to seal the four bit-beasts using the same beasts Ozuma and his mates have now, but they were too weak, and the bit-beasts escaped, never to be seen again. Since that time, the clan of the Saint Shields has made it their mission to seal the bit-beasts and save the world from destruction when the creatures reappear. since Dragoon, Dranzer, Driger and Draciel have all reappeared, it was time they did something to seal them back to the rock. Dunga issues a battle challenge to the Bladebreakers and Rei answers it with confidence, but Dunga's new Vortex Ape proves too much for Driger and it is captured before a shocked Rei. Back at their warehouse, the Saint Shields seal Driger in the stone. The Bladebreakers go into training and Rei proves much less capable. Takao reprehends him for being unfocused and he leaves frustrated that nobody respects his difficult situation. He battles a few amateur fans and realizes that bit-beasts are not what beyblading is all about. He then meets Zeo and congratulates him for another win. Rei is still down and Kai talks to him so that he is back to focus. After seeing that his friends have been practicing all day, he realizes he is not the only one who's affected by Driger's capture and gets back to training. At the Psykick's labs, Doctor K is informed about Driger's capture and demands the researches to be accelerated.

Meanwhile, Doctor K has secretly extracted a Spider bit-beast from the rock, under her assistant warnings that this is irregular since Zagart has not authorized such researches and gives it to a new Blader named Net whose mission is to go out and capture Takao's Dragoon. As Takao races to a Junior Beyblade Tournament, Net cuts him off and draws him into battle. Zeo eventually interferes in Takao's favor, but is easily knocked out by Net. During the fight, the new Psykick recruit keeps telling Takao to release his Dragoon so he can steal it, but when Takao finally does, Dragoon wins and Net runs away crying. They spot a suspicious kid leaving the room, but they quickly lose him. It turns out that it's the work of Jack, one of Dr. K's Bladers, and he's got a bit-beast that harnesses the wind. Jack eventually attacks Max, too. Ozuma witness the attack and informs his team mates about this new fighter. Once the Bladebreakers figure that a bit-beast is behind the attack, Rei volunteers to fight, but Kai stops him. At night, Kai secretly sneaks out to battle Jack. Discovering Kai is gone, the gang runs and finds him just as he's about to begin the battle. The gang realizes Kai doesn't stand a chance against this wind bit-beast because he can't see it, but reluctantly, they let him fight, while the Saint Shields secretly watch from among the woods. An intense battle ensues and Kai takes a severe beating as he waits to catch a glimpse of Jack's bit-beast. Finally Kai summons Dranzer and spots the wind Bit-Beast, a weasel with sickles in place of arms, and defeats it. "Amusement Park Battleground" (戦場の遊園地)
23 September 20021 February 2004
Fed up with all the recent attempts by Zagart and others to acquire the Bladebreakers bit-beasts, the Saint Shields decide to take action. They challenge the Bladebreakers to a match at an abandoned amusement park at the outskirts of town. The Bladebreakers spend the night discussing the match, while the Saint Shields make one last training session and vows to fulfill their mission. In the amusement park's wild west area, Mariam and Max are the first to engage in battle. The match goes back and forth as their bit-beasts take giant form and thrash about the wild west saloon. It ends in a draw, and while Max laments his draw, Ozuma harshly asks Mariam if she is still aware of their mission. He also says that Yusufu and Dunga are supposed to back Mariam up when at his signal. Max and Mariam go for another round. Over the course of it, Max's bond with Draciel makes Mariam realize she and her bit-beast Sharkrash share an equal closeness. Max's determination not just to win, but to fight for the return of Rei's bit-beast Driger culminates in Mariam's defeat. But she's not as upset as losing as she thought she'd be. Mariam realizes how much Max has taught her about treating her own Bit-Beast with respect, and how the determination of an entire team can overcome any obstacle. She says she feels confident that Max and the others are capable of protecting their bit-beasts, but Ozuma ends the chapter by saying he doesn't think so.

"Fate of The Spark Battle" (因縁のスパークバトル)
30 September 20021 February 2004
Dunga goes into battle against Kai and the fight intensifies as the blades race along the rails of an abandoned roller coaster to what looks like their doom. But suddenly, Yusufu launches his blade and both Dunga and Yusufu gang up on Kai. But just when things start to heat up, Rei launches his new blade to try to even the score. As the battle rages, the roller coaster collapses part by part around all the blades. The roller coaster chart starts riding and eventually falls out of the structure, exploding and creating a wall of fire. A subsequent rain puts the fire out. Eventually, some energized wires threaten Dranzer, Vortex Ape and Vanishing Moot. Rei breaks the power box's door and exposes the power switch. However, before he can shut it down, Yusufu stops him. When part of the roller coaster structure is about to fall on Rei, Driger breaks free from the rock to protect Rei and return to the beyblade. Together, Rei and Kai defeat their opponents. Ozuma steps up and warns Takao his Dragoon will be the next to be sealed as the skies clear.

"Bonds and Pride" (絆とプライド)
7 October 20021 February 2004
Ozuma makes a final play for the Bladebreakers four bit-beasts. Before the battle starts, Ozuma recalls the time when the leader of his tribe informed him of his mission and the heavy training he has been subjected to since then. Ozuma uses this memoirs mid-battle to make him stronger and eventually corners Takao, attacking him with full force and even putting his own bit-beast at stake by burning itself to the limit. Dragoon manages to break free, but Ozuma points numerous pieces of Dragoon spread across the battlefield, making it clear to Takao that he means business. In a quiet moment of reflection, Takao communicates with Dragoon for a second and final time in the series and they decide to fight the good fight no matter what the result. Takao and Dragoon lock horns with Ozuma's bit-beast and weave a path of destruction on the playing field. The match ends in a tie with a burned Flash Leopard and a severely damaged Dragoon. Ozuma realizes that Takao and the Bladebreakers are worthy enough to look after the four Bit-Beasts on their own and walk away with the rest of the Saint Shields.

"Proof of Friendship" (友情の証(あかし))
14 October 20027 February 2004
Pleased that the Saint Shields no longer wish to seal the four bit-beasts, Dr. K gives a new Blader, Denny, a powerful, octopus-like rock bit-beast named Klarken and orders him to capture the four sacred bit-beasts. Meanwhile, the Bladebreakers are training by the sea and Kyojyu asks Rei to test a new weigh disk he developed in a battle against Max. With this new addition, Driger easily knocks Draciel out. Zeo catches up with them and shows them his invitation to the upcoming World Championships. To his surprise, the kids invite him to practice with them but are interrupted by the sudden arrival by boat of Denny who challenges them to a battle. Rei answers the challenge and Denny takes him to the edge of a nearby cliff at Doctor K's request. Rei manages to hold his own against the powerful Klarken. When Denny launches a second Beyblade, releasing yet another Klarken, Driger is overpowered and the battle seems lost. It is Zeo who comes to the rescue, refusing to back down despite having no bit-beast of his own. Inspired by Zeo's courage and determination and enraged that Zeo got his beyblade destroyed by Denny, Rei rises to the occasion, vanquishing the two Klarken's and sends Denny packing. As the Psykick boat sails away, Doctor K emerges at the deck and stares at the Bladebreakers. She spots and recognizes Zeo and asks "what on Earth is he doing there". In gratitude for Zeo's attitude, Takao makes him the fifth member of the Bladebreakers.

"Suddenly, Goodbye..." (突然のサヨナラ...)
21 October 200221 February 2004
The Bladebreakers show up at the World Championship Tournament and go up into the stands to cheer on Zeo who's fighting in the preliminaries. Takao is pumped watching his new friend who wins his first fight. Later backstage, Takao tells Zeo he's totally impressed and asks if Zeo would like to become his training partner. Zeo excitedly agrees. Meanwhile, at Psykick's lab, Zagart finally finds out that Doctor K has been secretly extracting bit-beasts from the rock. Furious, he interrupts her research and fires her just as she is on the verge of removing the strongest bit-beast sealed in it. Zeo is shown arriving at his mansion, happy that he advanced to the next round at the World Championship. That night, he greets his father as he arrives, and it is revealed that the father is Zagart. Zeo is eager to tell him of his success at the tournament, but Zagart coldly sends him to his room and walks away. Later, an angry Doctor K (accompanied by her main assistant) shows up to confront her former boss in his house and as she does, Zeo overhears the entire conversation. Zeo realizes it's his dad who's been after the Bladebreakers' Bit-Beasts and cries. As the argument continues, Zeo accidentally drops his beyblade, alerting everyone of his presence. Doctor K leaves but not before telling Zagart of Zeo's partnership with Takao and the others. Furious, Zagart grabs Zeo and puts him up against a wall, then drops him (this is not shown in the English dub and the versions based on it). Zagart explains to Zeo that he needs the power of the four bit-beasts and gives him Cerberus, the strongest bit-beast from the rock (the one Doctor K was about to extract before being fired), telling him that he must steal his friends' bit-beasts. Zeo asks him why, and Zagart explains, but that's not shown. Instead, the anime jumps to the point where Zeo is shocked by whatever his father just told him. At the following day, the Bladebreakers' are worried about Zeo and are informed by his partner at the World Championship that he quit. He spends the whole day walking and reflecting about the secret he was just told and eventually comes upon the Bladebreakers. They try to confront him but he ends his friendship with them and leaves, crying. As he arrives home, he demands his father to give him Cerberus.

"The Evil Part Hunt" (悪のパーツ狩(が)り)
28 October 200222 February 2004
Zeo focuses on Beyblade training with his father Zagart. The most powerful rock Bit-Beast named Cerberus is designated for Zeo, but he must first be able to summon it. Zeo trains furiously against another Psykick recruit named Gordo, but the elusive bit-beast never fully materializes. Meanwhile, the Bladebreakers must choose their two team-pairs for the World Beyblade Championships. Hiromi brings in a pile of her fortune-telling books to help. They decide that Takao will team with Max, and Kai with Rei. Then, they head for the preliminary rounds of the World Championship. A couple of beybladers are seen watching the games and saying the competing bladers are "amateurs". Not long afterward, Kai is training at the beach and the same pair meets him, impressed by Dranzer. They talk Kai into battling them, with Dranzer's attack ring up for grabs if they win. To Kai's surprise, not only do they have bit-beasts of their own, but they're not above tag-teaming him to avoid defeat. By the end of the battle, Dranzer is so damaged that its attack ring is useless, which sends the couple on their way empty-handed. When Kai discusses the incident with his Bladebreaker teammates, it's discovered that they are known as King and Queen and are infamous "parts hunters" - bladers who search for high-end Beyblade parts from others that they can acquire for themselves. Back at Zagart's lab, Zeo tries summoning Cerberus one last time – his 42nd attempt - and succeeds. Cerberus is a massively powerful canine bit-beast with three snarling heads that disintegrates Gordo's beyblade against a wall. Zeo then wows to beat the Bladebreakers and acquire their bit-beasts.

"Kai's Revenge Battle" (カイのリベンジバトル)
4 November 200228 February 2004
Kai is given a brand new Beyblade crafted for him by Kyojyu and longs for a rematch against King and Queen. Doctor K is also after them and tracks the duo down to offer them a chance to team up with her so they can capture and wield the power of the four sacred bit-beasts together. The pair blow her off, interested only in their quests for stealing the perfect Beyblade parts. Eventually, Kai is informed that both are fighting kids for their parts. Kai heads for the location and demands them a revenge. The battle is fierce, and eventually Kai's Dranzer throws King's Ariel towards a tree, which falls between them. Dranzer is left spinning, but the pair disappears, meaning the fight has no outcome. They are later seen at Doctor K's car and learn that Dranzer was one of the sacred bit-beasts. Later, Takao advances to the finals of the championship and the team learns that King and Queen have entered the finals. Kane and Jim, the Psykick's ex-recruits that battled the Bladebreakers at the Psykick tower, are back in town and are also competing in the finals while Goki and Salima travel around the World to teach kids how to beyblade. At Psykick's lab, Gordo is chosen as Zeo's partner at the tournament and is given Orthrus, a two-headed canine bit-beast from the rock.

11 November 200229 February 2004
After disappearing thirty years ago, Dr Zagart confronts Daitokuji Kaichou in his room, forcing him to enter Zeo and Gordo in the World Championship preliminaries. Takao, Max, Hiromi and Kyojyu arrive and finally meet their enemy. He reveals to them that Zeo is his son and that he won't show mercy when he confronts the Bladebreakers in the tournament. The Bladebreakers try to attend Zeo's match so they can find out what's happened to him but arrive at the arena too late - they are informed that Zeo and Gordo advanced in a matter of minutes, ending most of their matches with only one hit. Meanwhile, Dr. K works with King and Queen to improve their powers so they can get the four sacred bit-beasts for her. At the World Championship's opening night gala, the Bladebreakers meet Kane and Jim, King and Queen, and the Saint Shields, who have also advanced to the finals. The final pairings are announced: Zeo and Gordo (absent from the event) vs. Ozuma and Dunga; Kai and Rei vs. Sanchez and Marcos, the Central American champions; Yusufu and Mariam vs. King and Queen; and Kane and Jim vs. Takao and Max. As Kaichou delivers his speech, King and Queen interrupt him and say they don't care about beyblading, just about Takao and his team mates and that the rest of the competitors are irrelevant. This enrages Dunga and he starts a no-rules Beyblade against King in the middle of the crowd. They take the match outside but the Bladebreakers manage to stop the duel. Zeo and Gordo are shown at the building looking down on the other finalists.

18 November 20026 March 2004
The Beyblade World Championship Finals are underway and the eight pairs are introduced with King and Queen being heavily booed. In this final part, each team member fight one sudden death match. Teams with two wins advance to the next round. If there is one win and one loss for each competing team, then the winners of each match will face each other in a tiebreaker. Takao tries to talk to Zeo before his match begins, but Gordo pushes him against the wall (this is not shown in the English dub and versions based on it). Zeo eventually emerges from his room and agrees to talk. Takao asks Zeo to explain his actions to him and says they are "friends" but Zeo rejects this and makes it clear once again that now they are enemies. Ozuma, who overheard the conversation, confronts Takao and says if he's not capable of realizing that Zeo is now his enemy, he will seal Dragoon right away to protect it. Takao understands and heads for the stands to watch them fight. Once the competition begins, Zeo's team mate Gordo makes short work of Dunga. Then it's Zeo turn. After a very intense battle, with Zeo motivated by his need to capture the four bit-beasts and Ozuma motivated by his mission of protecting them, Zeo seems unable to overcome Ozuma's power, but when he reminds of his father telling him of a still-unrevealed secret, he summons up his power and calls upon Cerberus, which surprises everyone. At this point, Kyojyu's laptop malfunctions due to some interference. Ozuma brings Flash Leopard out and gives everything he's got, setting his beyblade on fire (though this was for some reason cut from the English dub and versions based on it), but loses anyway.

25 November 20027 March 2004
The World Beyblade Championships continue and the next round has Takao and Max squaring off against Kane and Jim. Kane and Jim decide to have a little practice battle at the beach. But King and Queen show up and in a surprise attack, they jump into battle and literally destroy Kane and Jim's Beyblades, forcing them to withdraw from the tournament. In tears, they are later comforted by the Bladebreakers. The next battle up is King and Queen facing Mariam and Yusufu from the Saint Shields in a special stadium with magnets placed above and below the beyblades, creating magnetic fields that provide a considerable obstacle for the competitors. Mariam and Queen launch first, and as they battle, King suddenly launches his blades making it two against one. The officials are about to call off the fight when Yusufu tells them not to do so and joins in the fray. In the end, King and Queen combine forces and first attack Mariam and then Yusufu, destroying both their beyblades and stealing their attack rings. The battle is over, the crowd is stunned and they qualify to face Max and Takao in the semi-final.

Rei and Kai fight the last quarter-final match for the World Championship and win over Sanchez and Marcos with no great difficulties and advance to the semi-final round where they will face Zeo and Gordo. Takao and Max are next and must face King and Queen for the other semi-final. Doctor K tempts Queen into using a vicious new attack ring she's created called "The Shredder". Queen uses it against Max, and nearly grinds Draciel into a pulp. But with Max using the new Draciel V2 Judy gave him, and having the will of the crowd and his teammates behind him, Max overcomes this attack, reverses her ring and destroys Queen's beyblade, winning the first match of the best-of-two. Next up, is King versus Takao, who has an improved Beyblade of his own, thanks to Kyojyu. Angered by the failure of Doctor K's attack ring, King dissolves his partnership with the scientist and vows to combat Takao without her assistance. The resulting match is an intense, high-powered battle that's not only fair, but completely up for grabs. When Takao's blade begins faltering for some unknown reason, the combatants spot Doctor K high above the stadium. Through a rooftop window, she's using a particle beam to try and disable Dragoon. Disgusted by her attempt to throw the match, King and Takao put aside their differences, combine their Bit-Beasts' attack, and interrupt her attack. Zagart approaches and destroys her weapon, telling her she's "over". With the playing field even again, the Blader's resume their match and Takao wins. King's display of honesty generates a newfound respect for King and Queen from the Bladebreakers and they promise to acquire experience instead of beyblade parts. Takao and Max advance to the final.

Kai and Zeo begin a fierce battle, taking the fight to the stands and the video screen and unleashing so much power that the stadium begins to take damage. The duel becomes a matter of endurance. Meanwhile, Kyojyu studies Kai and Zeo's match and discovers his laptop had the same interference problem it had when Zeo was facing Ozuma. Kyojyu then makes an astonishing discovery and takes it to Kaichou, who is also shocked by the news, though they remain unrevealed to the viewer. The Championship Finals begin as Takao faces Gordo. Despite Orthrus' increased size and power, Takao and Dragoon emerge victorious due to their spiritual link and destroy Orthrus. Determined to win back Dranzer for Kai, Max battles with an intensity he's never had before and pushes Zeo to the brink of defeat. By then, Kyojyu's laptop detects the same interference saw when Zeo faced Ozuma and Kai and decides to get Kaichou to confront Zagart about their recent unrevealed discovery about Zeo. Zagart listens to their pleas but refuses to pull Zeo from the match despite the strain that he is putting on his body. He reasons that Zeo is no longer under his control and is fighting for himself. Back to the battle, Zeo eventually summons a super bit-beast that combines the powers of Cerberus and Dranzer and overwhelms Draciel, capturing it in the process. The final victory comes down to a tie-breaking match between Zeo and Takao. "Fated Final Battle" (宿命のラストバトル)
30 December 200228 March 2004
It is revealed that Zeo is an android and Kyojyu deduces he will try to defeat Takao before his entire body shortcircuits. Zeo eventually explains he's a robot Zagart created to replace his real son who died in a tragic accident. And according to his father, if Zeo can capture Takao's Dragoon, then by using all the Sacred bit-beasts powers, Zeo could be turned into a real boy. The battle rages on and Zeo seems to be the aggressor. Takao tries to rally, but each move he makes is countered by the aggressive Zeo, who eventually calls upon Draciel and Dranzer to increase Cerberus' power. Takao himself gets knocked out of the stadium right under Max's feet, who helps him get back up again (Takao flying towards Max is not shown in the English dub and versions based on it). Eventually Cerberus multiplies and Takao starts facing three beyblades at once. Takao summons all his remaining strength and destroys the two extra beyblades, sets Draciel and Dranzer free and defeats Zeo. Zeo is sad to realize he'll never become a boy, but Takao convinces him to be happy with who he is and that he must be able to do many things a normal person can't. The Bladebreakers greet him as the World champion once again.

"Takao, Let's Battle!" (タカオ、勝負だ!)
January 6, 2003September 18, 2004
Takao, the reigning Beyblade World champion for a second consecutive time, is teaching some boys in the neighborhood how to beyblade using his new Dragoon Galaxy, equipped with the engine gear, a mechanism that activates some clockworks mid-battle to increase the beyblade's spinning velocity. Hiromi and Kyojyu watch from a nearby bench while Kai rests behind them. Rei approaches them to join the audience. Suddenly, a cocky kid named Daichi comes down from the hills and challenges Takao to a battle. Hiromi tries to confront him but he calls her a "old hag" and she backs off, offended (this is not shown in the English dub and the versions based on it). Meanwhile, Max is having lunch at his father's and watches the sport news, when the presenter announces Kaichou of BBA is about to make an announcement at a press conference. Back to Takao and Daichi, their battle begins with the challenger going for the jugular. Daichi surprises everyone by saying that his beyblade is called Gaia Dragoon (Strata Dragoon in the English dub and versions based on it). Daichi's blade copycats Takao's every move, stealing power from him as the battle progresses. Takao sends Daichi's blade off the stadium, but because it still spins, Daichi refuses to accept defeat and explains that from where he comes, "the whole world is the stadium". But in the end it is Takao who wins the battle after some advice from Kai by calling out his Galaxy Storm attack. Daichi is humiliated and begs Takao for a rematch. Takao has had enough of him and is about to walk away, when, out of the blue, another character appears and challenges him, introducing himself as Jin of the Gale.
2 "A Team Divided"
"We're Not Friends!" (友達じゃねぇ!)
January 13, 2003September 18, 2004
Takao and Jin start a fight and Jin reveals his bit-beast is Death Driger (Metal Driger in the English dub and versions based on it), but this doesn't surprise anyone as it happened with Daichi revealing Gaia Dragoon. Daichi immediately joins the fight and both take on Takao. Rei feels forced to interfere as well to aid Takao. The four beyblades head for an all-out attack against each other when Max shows up and tells them to stop. Jin knocks his three opponents out, takes his blade and leaves. Max then announces that the BBA has just announced the World Championship. Kaichou called a press conference to inform all Bladers that this year there will be an twist in the tournament. Tag teams will represent the final teams in the championships and Takao is very excited. Daichi follows Takao home and demands him a rematch. Takao's Grandfather shows up and invites Daichi for dinner and to sleep. Meanwhile, Max receive a letter from his mother and Rei thinks over the championship at the park where Daichi challenged Takao. The next day, Takao and Kyojyu meet Rei and Max at a training facility and they announce they have decided to leave the Bladebreakers and represent their hometown teams (Baihuzu and All Starz, respectively). Takao is shocked by the news and confronts his friends but reluctantly agrees to let them go, not without reminding them that they'll still be friends no matter what.
3 "Invitation to Battle"
"You'll Never Defeat Me" (オレには勝てん)
January 20, 2003September 19, 2004
Rei sits and looks at a photograph of him and the Bladebreakers and reflects on his last talk with Takao. Meanwhile, Daichi continues to annoy Takao with constant battle challenges. Takao refuses to accept, especially when Daichi proves to be an impressive and highly skilled Beyblader at a confrontation at the public swimming pool when Takao, Daichi, Kyojyu and Hiromi were being expelled. Takao and Daichi continue to argue on the streets, watched from afar by Jin, who thinks to himself he must test Takao before the World Championship preliminaries. Meanwhile, Jin sends Takao an invitation to a private battle, but Daichi tries to grab it and the invitation flies away to the backyard. While arguing with Daichi, Takao suddenly realizes that being a World Champion will make people come to him to challenge him. He finally accepts to give Daichi a rematch. Meanwhile, Rei, who was wandering by the street, finds them battling and is glad that Takao finally understood. On his way out, he finds Jin's invitation and decides to go in Takao's place to challenge Jin in the stormy night. Jin's Death Driger proves able to use the water on the ground to create reflections of itself, confusing Rei. He then tells the Bladebreaker that he is "good at everything but isn't great at anything" and that makes him weak. Rei understands and builds a strategy to overcome Jin's illusions, surprising Jin, but he loses anyway, with a lightning striking right in the middle of the beyblades. Jin leaves and tells Rei he doesn't need to battle Takao anymore. Jin then reflects that "there's much work to be done" and that Takao is lucky to have a friend like Rei. In the United States, Max is greeted by his mother as he arrives at the airport. Suddenly, a beyblade storms among the crowd and hits a concrete pillar, damaging it with ease. A tall beyblader then appears, holding a stereo right next to his ear. Judy then introduces him to Max as Rick Anderson, the new All Starz recruit. Max tries to politely shake his hand, but Rick simply rejects him and says he wasted his trip by coming to meet him at Judy's request.
4 "We Were Once Bladebreakers..."
"I Will Decide on My Own Path" (オレの道はオレが決める)
January 27, 2003September 25, 2004
Kai is seen on top of a building near a cat and tries to touch his head, but the cat screams and hurts his hand (only the scream is shown in the English dub and the versions based on it). Jin then appears and confronts Kai, saying that "Rei and Max have already quit the team". Kai responds by saying only he can decide his path. At home, Takao's alone and picking in his nose (this is not shown in the English dub and the versions based on it), reflecting about Max and Rei. He begins to day dream and his grandfather hits him in the head with his wooden sword (this is not shown in the English dub and the versions based on it) and tries to make him understand why they left. Takao then leaves and finds Hiromi looking at Kyojyu through a window - he is building himself a new beyblade to compete at the World championship. Meanwhile, both Rei and Max are going through the growing pains of being part of a new team. Rei, back with his old Baihuzu friends from his hometown, re-unites with his strange mystical sensei, Tao, and unveils his new Driger and takes on all his teammates at once. In the United States, Rick is seen in an alley battling in an underground tournament where people gamble (the gambling is not shown in the English dub and the versions based on it). He shatters his opponent's beyblade to pieces. Max, Michael and Eddie then appear and confront him over skipping the team's training schedule to take part of such tournament. Rick's badmouthing of All Starz enrages Eddie and they get into a fight. the match ends in a tie as Rick's beyblade forces Trypio through the edge of the beyblade cement dish. Rick then walks away and stomps his own beyblade, while the crowd boozes. Rick says it is the beyblader who makes a difference during a battle, not the beyblade, and Max responds by stating it takes heart to be a good fighter. As the preliminaries are about to start, Takao and Daichi realize they haven't signed for the competition yet, so they rush for the enlisting section. There, they are confronted by Jin, who says he will not enlist for the competition because he has other concerns and asks Takao about the "promise" they have made in the past (this is not shown in the English dub and the versions based on it, instead, Jin simply tells Takao he should do something as a leader of a team that's falling apart. Jin's angry look at Daichi when he says Jin won't compete because he is scared was also cut). Takao then reminds of Kai, who was supposed to be his partner, and finds out he never signed for the competition. Takao rushes out of the stadium to search for Kai, but he arrives at the last minute and signs.
5 "A League of His Own"
"One Hundred Years Too Early!" (100年早いぜ!)
February 3, 2003September 26, 2004
The preliminaries for the World Championship are about to start and DJ Jazzman explains that the competitors were divided into Blocks A and B, and the winners of each block will form a tag team to compete in the finals. At a still empty stadium, Takao reflects on the beginning of the tournament and again meets Jin just as he was about to head for a toilet (Takao's brief moment of despair is not shown in the English dub and the versions based on it). However, the mysterious beyblader just disappears in a blink of an eye, only to reappear further around a corner. He is later seen with Kaichou, discussing the Bladebreaker's future. When the games begin, Takao, Kai and Daichi advance with ease, and so does Kyojyu, impressing Takao. Nobody thinks anything when a fan and competitor named Kotaro asks for an autograph and takes advantage of the opportunity to examine Takao's, Kyojyu's and Daichi's Beyblades. Kyojyu is the first of the three to battle him, despite his injured arm. Kotaro unveils his beyblade, Chameleon Fake, which is able to disguise itself as the opponent's beyblade, and knocks Kyojyu's beyblade out of the beystadium. The team then realizes the rouse of asking for an autograph was to examine the beyblades. Takao is the next to fight him and Kotaro reveals to be able to mimic Dragoon's special attack. Kyojyu then tells Takao that Kotaro is unlikely to be able to keep up the attack for much longer, and Takao uses the true Galaxy Storm attack to win the match.
6 "You're The Man, Kai!"
"No One But Kai!" (カイしかいねぇ!)
February 10, 2003October 2, 2004
There's only one round left in the tournament to decide who's going to partner up with Takao in the World Beyblade Tag Team Championships and it's between Daichi and Kai. Takao is once again confronted by Jin and reflects about his words later in the backstages while Hiromi sews Daichi's pants. Daichi notices Takao is worried and jumps on him, only to be thrown back towards Hiromi, landing butt-first in her face and then landing safely on the floor, causing Hirmoi to briefly faint (this is not shown in the English dub and the versions based on it; other scenes of this discussion were also cut for some reason). When he finds out it's a tag team event and he's not going to go up against Takao, he's totally enraged, but decides to beat Kai, who overheard the entire conversation. When the finals in Block B begin, a radical jungle dish is revealed which gives Daichi the edge. Quickly, the underdog starts slamming and attacking Kai while Kai does nothing to defend himself. As Takao and his friends watch, they nervously yell out for Kai to attack, but he doesn't listen. Suddenly, as if struck by a bolt of lightning, Kai calls out for his Dranzer to attack. In one swoop, he defeats Daichi. After the battle, Kai is announced as Takao's partner for the Tag Team Finals, but Kaichou makes an announcement that their new team, the BBA Revolution, will have two alternate players - Daichi and Kyojyu. And they were both chosen and announced by Jin. It turns out Jin is actually Hiro, Takao's older brother who has come back to coach Takao and his team, now renamed as BBA Revolution.

The final match of the Block A of the American leg of the World Championship is about to take place and Max face off against All Starz's Emily in a stadium full of holes - if a beyblade falls down any of them, its owner automatically loses. Max defeats Emily and tries to comfort her, but she is too frustrated and goes bitter on Max. In the final round of Block B, Michael and Rick battle in a stadium full of bumps. Rick unveils his new beyblade Rock Bison and makes short work of Michael with his new special attack Drop Rock. The ex-leader of the All Starz then leaves with Eddie and Emily, feeling rejected and useless now that Max and Rick will form the tag team - now renamed as PPB All Starz - though Rick is still cocky about having Max as a partner. Steve, the football player that was part of the All Starz in the first season is absent from the team - in the Japanese ending scenes of this season, he is depicted with a bruised foot, explaining his absence. The finals of the Russian tournament also take place and Yuri defeats Sergei for the Block A, paving the way for the return of the Neo Borg team (Demolition Boys in the English dub and the versions based on it, now renamed as Blitzkrieg Boys in those dubs). The match is broadcast live and the BBA Revolution watch - Kai shows a slight interest in the battle. Later, they begin practicing for the finals. Then, the final match of the Chinese Block B is about to take place between Rei and Lee, who's got a new Galeon. However, Rei totally controls the battle and knocks Galeon out with his new special attack Gatling Claw. Lee then congratulates him on the victory and admits Rei's superiority, but Rei turns cold on him and says he should have tried harder and should be more upset about losing, after grabbing his shirt (this is not shown in the English dub and the versions based on it). Kai watches as his friends Max and Rei win the final matches of their respective blocks for other teams. This causes him to question his loyalty to Takao. In the end of the episode, it is revealed that the Majestiks were eliminated from the championship by a new team composed of unknown beybladers, the Barthez Battalion.
8 "Roughing It"
"This Isn't Training!" (合宿じゃねぇ!)
February 24, 2003October 9, 2004
The BBA Revolution Team heads to a remote training camp to prepare for the upcoming tournament. When they first arrive, Kai is seemingly uninterested and Hiro deduces he is about to leave the team. Kai walks away from him without saying a word and Hiro realizes he was right. He then tells his younger brother about Kai's defection. Daichi says Kai wasn't that good and Hiromi hits him in the head, Daichi calls her a grandmother and they fight (this is not shown in the English dub and the versions based on it; instead, Daichi says Kai wasn't that good, with which Hiromi gets angry and they directly start the fight). Takao makes himself ready to quit too, but Hiro convinces him to choose a new partner (Takao grabs Hiro by the shirt, but Hiro punches him away; though this is only shown in the original Japanese dub and the versions based on it). Takao then picks Daichi, and they cruise into the wilderness to teach him survival skills as they relate to Beyblading. The plan works well until Takao strays from the main path, and gets himself and Daichi hopelessly lost. They then fall into a river, losing most of their supplements, and eventually get trapped by a raging forest fire, narrowly escaping a falling tree (this is not shown in the English dub and the versions based on it). Only by working together, and using their Beyblades in perfect unison, can they save themselves and the forest - which they manage to do in the end, by joining forces and creating a water tornado. Takao finally realizes that Daichi does in fact have what it takes to be his partner in the championship tournament. Kai is shown meeting Yuri, and the Russian beyblader greets him as the new Neo Borg member.

March 3, 2003October 16, 2004
The BBA Revolution team fly to New York City for the first round of the Beyblade World Championships (the six teams that qualified will play each other in a round-robin format, and the two teams with most wins will battle each other for the trophy). while training, Max is confronted by the eliminated PPB All Starz members and Michael pushes him down to the floor and they leave (this is not shown in the English dub and the versions based on it; instead, Emily simply asks Max to quit the team with Rick if they can't get along with each other). As the BBA Revolution arrive in New York City, Daichi is jealous of Takao getting so much attention from fans and the media, and he's also overwhelmed by the size and scope of things in the Big Apple. He and Takao visit the Statue of Liberty and a game of baseball, where Daichi catches a ball that was sent towards the audience (for some reason, this was not shown in the English dub and the versions based on it). While eating lunch in a sidewalk café, Takao and Daichi have their beyblades stolen by a young pickpocket as he was pretending to help Takao clean off his clothes after Daichi spilled some beverage on it (for some reason, this is not shown in the English dub and the versions based on it, instead, Daichi spills the beverage and the pickpocket simply spots their beyblades as he does in the original dub after trying to help Takao). Together they begin scouring the streets for the culprit since they failed to notice the robbery at the time it happened. Takao has it with Daichi and pushes him to the floor (this is not shown in the English dub and the versions based on it). Just as the pair are about to give up the search, Takao hears the unmistakable sounds of Dragoon coming from a nearby alley. There, they find the boy who robbed them using Dragoon to battle Rick in a street match. Rick wins and prepares to leave with his stolen bounty. Takao and Daichi try to convince Rick to give back their blades, but Rick will only return them if they defeat him in a match. The three bladers engage in battle, with Takao and Daichi tag-teaming Rick. Rick is on the verge of defeating them when a surprise fourth blader jumps in – Max. The match ends in a draw, and Rick leaves empty-handed. Max vows to try to improve his relationship with Rick after seeing Takao and Daichi playing together as a tag team. Back at their Hotel, the BBA Revolution team watch the sports news on TV, and learn that the other teams in the Championship Tournament have all arrived in New York City. Takao is surprised to find out about Kai joining the Neo Borg team.
10 "It's a Battle Royale...!"
"Come and Finish This!" (まとめてきやがれ!)
March 10, 2003October 17, 2004
The first round of the finals of the World Championship is about to begin and the six teams are introduced: BBA Revolution, PPB All Starz, Baihuzu (renamed as White Tiger X in the English dub and the versions based on it), Barthez Batallion, F Sangre (known as F Dynasty in the English dub and the versions based on it; an unknown pair of young beybladers) and the Neo Borg. The first match is randomly decided via a draw and the BBA Revolution will face off against Baihuzu. Takao is uncomfortable with this, and is more disturbed to see Kai with the Neo Borg. After confronting his ex-teammate, Kai suggests to Takao that the reason he left is because his old team just wasn't good enough. Takao is insulted and Kai walks away. At the BBA Revolution preparing room, Daichi is picking on his nose (this is not shown in the English dub and the versions based on it) as the team discusses the match - without Takao. As the match begins, Lee is sent to face off against Takao, which becomes furious with Rei supposedly baking away from the match. He grabs Blader DJ's microphone and challenges Rei for a match in which he'll take on Rei and Lee all at once. Daichi wants to join in and Blader DJ feels forced to ask Kaichou if he's OK with that format. Kaichou gives thumbs up for the match and it begins in a stadium filled with pointy spears that alternatively project in and out of the ground. While Rei and Lee feel at home with the stadium, Takao and Daichi struggle with it and have difficulties fighting together. Hostilities develop mid-battle between Takao and Daichi; this gives the Baihuzu an opportunity to finish them off. Takao watches shocked as Dragoon and Gaia Dragoon are thrown out of the dish. Rei says he is disappointed with Takao and Hiro reflects on his brother's attitude.
11 "The Blame Game"
"It's Not My Fault!" (オレが悪いんじゃねえ!)
March 17, 2003October 23, 2004
Takao blames his embarrassing loss to Rei on Daichi, telling the team he is better off competing alone. As Takao runs away, the United States leg continue with the Neo Borg facing off against the F Dynasty. After an unseen battle between Yuri and Julia (which ended with the Russian beyblader's victory), Kai fights Raul with his new Dranzer Gigs. Raul tries to hold on with his Torch Pegasus, but ends easily knocked out. In the next and final match, Claude of the Barthez Batallion is sent to battle Rick and receives instructions from his coach Barthez via a headset. Claude's skill gives him the upper hand until Rick's unleashes his full power. Rick hits one of the spears and sends it flying towards Claude. He prepares to dodge it, but Barthez orders him to stand still. He is subsequently hit by the object (the scene is briefly cut in the English dub and the versions based on it). Now that Claude is badly injured, Barthez announces he'll have to forfeit the match and has the crowd turn against the PPB All Starz. It was all a plan to earn "the hearts and minds" of the audience. Max then defeats Aaron in a almost totally unseen match. Meanwhile, Hiro finds Takao, who blames Daichi for his loss. Hiro then challenges him to a duel, winning easily after deploying two twin beyblades. Hiro tells Takao he needs to realize he's not so good and walks away.

March 24, 2003October 30, 2004
Coach Barthez is seen talking to an unknown person on the phone, saying he may ask for another "favor". Then, Takao, Daichi, Hiromi and Kyojyu are seen having lunch, with Takao still frustrated with his defeat. They decide to turn on the TV to see what's on the news and they do it just in time to see an announcement about the World Championship: the next round will be in Italy, and the matches will be: Baihuzu x Barthez Batallion, PPB All Starz x F Sangre and BBA Revolution x Neo Borg. Takao is surprised that he will have to face Kai so soon and leaves the room determined to win. Meanwhile, Barthez busily prepares his team for the big event. He has invited a television news crew to document his efforts as a coach. However, after the TV crew leaves, it is revealed that Barthez is actually a ruthless coach. He beats Miguel so that he stays focused and pushes Matihlda. As the first match begins, Rei goes up against Claude. In mere seconds, Rei pulls off a victory. The second battle has Lee and Miguel pitted against each other. It doesn't take long for Miguel to win the match for Barthez Battalion - using his Bitbeast chip to reflect light right into Lee's eyes, causing him to weaken his special attack, leaving Galeon vulnerable for Miguel's final attack. This outcome sets up the tie-breaker - Miguel against Rei. The match takes place on a stadium full of wires. This battle starts off with Rei on the offensive, but suddenly, blades spring out of Miguel's blade (unnoticed for all the other spectators and Rei himself) and damage a wire where Driger was riding. As Driger approaches the damaged part of the wire, the wire breaks and the beyblade falls in the middle of the stadium, losing balance. Rei manages to hold on and tries to make one more attack on Miguel, but Driger gets inexplicably thrown out of the stadium as it tries to hit Miguel's Death Gargoyle (renamed Dark Gargoyle in the English dub and the versions based on it). Barthez congratulate Miguel for his victory but the beyblader is not glad to have won by cheating. Kyojyu, watching this on a monitor (for some reason this is not shown in the English dub and the versions based on it), is very suspicious of the victory just as Hiro enters to give the line-up for the next battle against the Neo Borg: Daichi and Kyojyu. Takao is shocked that he won't have a chance to face Kai.

Takao gets in a huff and leaves the team room after he is dropped from the lineup against the Neo Borg. This leaves Kyojyu and Daichi to pick up the slack against their opponents. Feeling rejected, Takao wanders off and runs into Baihuzu's strange coach Tao who takes him shopping until they are ultimately expelled from a shop (for some reason this is not shown in the English dub and the versions based on it). Meanwhile, the competition rolls on and the PPB All Stars face the F Sangre. Under lots of booing from the audience, Rick and Max defeat Raul and Julia (who are revealed to be siblings) respectively. Next up, the Neo Borg face off against the BBA Revolution without Takao. Kai and Daichi go first, but Kai simply forces his own beyblade out of the stadium right towards Hiro's head, missing it by mere centimeters. Dranzer then flies back to him and he leaves the dish after exchanging looks with his opponents' coach. Kyojyu then reflects on this move (for some reason this is not shown in the English dub and the versions based on it). He then nervously goes to the beystadium to face his opponent Yuri. Takao watches at a restaurant and realizes he should be there, supporting his friend. He then rushes to the stadium, where Kyojyu finds himself way out of his league. But when Hiro gives him some words of encouragement and Yuri starts to insult Takao, he discovers his blading spirit and vows to never give up and win the match for his friend.

"Do it For Me!" (オレにやらせろ!)
April 7, 2003November 7, 2004
In the second match, Yuri thinks he's broken Kyojyu down, but Kyojyu summons his inner strength and attacks with all of his combined power. However, it's not enough, and Yuri shatters Kyojyu's Einstein (Hopper in the English dub and the versions based on it) to pieces with his Novae Rog attack. Kyojyu loses the match, but in the process spots a major weakness in Yuri's game. Daichi is called to take on Yuri in the tie-breaker. Takao is desperate for the win, and tries to convince Yuri to let him fight in Daichi's place. Yuri refuses, and Daichi is furious that Takao has so little faith in his abilities. Meanwhile, Kyojyu rigs Daichi's Beyblade with a special part to help him in the battle. He convinces Daichi to follow his game plan, and stay away from Yuri's blade until the perfect moment. Daichi agrees, but it goes against his natural style and it takes all his strength just to keep from attacking. Yuri unleashes his special attack, but Daichi dodges it. Finally Kyojyu spots the opening, and Daichi defeats a shocked Yuri, awarding the BBA Revolution the victory. Takao is humbled, and vows never to underestimate his teammates again. Meanwhile, F Sangre pays Kaichou a visit and ask him to allow them to make tag team matches.

"'ll Partner?" (パートナーだろ!?)
April 14, 2003November 13, 2004
In Madrid for the Spanish leg of the World Championships, the hard-of-sleeping Lee has a nightmare that Rei kicks him off the team for his poor play. The day before their next match, Baihuzu encounters a pair of beyblading jugglers (Raul and Julia) in Madrid's main square, who also happen to be trick bladers. When Lee criticizes their performance, Julia slaps him in the face (this is not shown in the English dub and the versions based on it) and then the pair challenges he and Rei to an impromptu match. The jugglers beat them handily, which only exacerbates Lee's insecurity about his skills, leading him to faint. Rei suspects that Lee's problem stems not only from a lack of sleep lately, but from a lack of communication between the two. Rei discusses the problem with Takao, who suggests that Rei be more confrontational. Kaichou meanwhile grants F Sangre permission for a two-on-two match. When the day of the match arrives, and Baihuzu faces F Sangre, Lee and Rei discover the jugglers' true identities. Wanting payback for their earlier loss, Lee and Rei accept the two-on-two challenge and the match format is set. F Sangre dominates the contest, causing Lee to go batty in fear of letting Rei down yet again. Coming loose at the seams, Lee's reckless blading becomes a serious concern. To save his fragile-minded teammate from further distress, Rei knocks out Lee's blade himself and ends up losing as well in the process. Discussing the incident afterward, Lee acknowledges his mistake, and he and Rei vow to be more communicative in the future.

As Max prepares to face Kai in the next round, the members of BBA Revolution overhear a confrontation between Johnny and Robert of the Majestiks and Barthez Battalion. It turns out Barthez Battalion won their qualifying tournament through trickery. Thanks to Kyojyu, the teams find proof of Barthez's underhanded tactics, but Rick and Max advises them that it is too late to disqualify them from the Championships and start everything over again. the match between Kai and Max is about to start and the stadium is revealed to have three sets of energized bull horns whose electric power could throw a beyblade out of the dish. Armed with his new Draciel Gravity, Max takes Kai to the edge of defeat only to end up defeated himself, though he had a chance of knocking Kai out by using the electric horns. Rick is frustrated that Max didn't take advantage of the stadium and uses his rage to overcome Yuri easily and goes on to face Kai in a tiebreaker. Despite his great power, Rick loses to the more experienced Kai. Inspired by the match, Takao vows to face Barthez Battalion with everything he's got.

Barthez Batallion's popularity grows as they are about to face off against the BBA Revolution. However, Mathilda, their female blader, is hesitant about fighting for some reason. Meanwhile, Hiromi and Kyojyu want to report their dirty deeds to the authorities, but Takao believes the best way to teach them a lesson is to beat them fair and square. Daichi mocks on Hiromi and she hits a chair in his head as a response (this is not shown in the English dub and the versions based on it). Back with the Barthez Batallion, Miguel gets punished by his coach for arriving late. As the match begins, Mathilda is first against Daichi. The BBA Revolution blader seems to have the upper hand and releases his special attack, Vurst Hurricane. Mathilda then secretly forces her own beyblade, Pierce Hedgehog, to self-destruct, much to everyone's surprise. Subsequently, Daichi's own attack causes his opponent's blade pieces to collide with Gaia Dragoon, severely damaging it. Barthez plan was to have Miguel defeat Takao, forcing a third, tie-breaking match, which would be inviable due to Gaia Dragoon being so damaged, which would in turn force the BBA Revolution to forfeit the match. Daichi tries to give coach Barthez himself a piece of his mind, but Takao holds him back, knowing that all will be decided in the beyblade dish. Miguel, on the other side, has different plans and refuses to keep cheating. He fights according to the rules and loses, albeit feeling relieved in the end. Barthez, however, is frustrated and wows to make Miguel pay for disobeying him.
18 "Beyblade Like an Egyptian"
"I have good face!" (いい顔してるね!)
May 5, 2003December 4, 2004
The Egyptian round of the World Championship is about to begin and a TV sports program announces the upcoming matches: Neo Borg vs. Barthez Batallion, PPB All Starz vs. Baihuzu and BBA Revolution vs. F Sangre (for some reason, this is not shown in the English dub and the versions based on it; the results table shown at the beginning of the episode is omitted). Hiromi is delighted with the country, but Daichi is again sick due to the flight and Hiromi gets scared with his sick face (for some reason, parts of this conversation were cut from the English dub and the versions based on it). Barthez is disappointed with Mathilda and Miguel, so he choses Claud and Aaron for the match against the Neo Borg. Meanwhile, the BBA Revolution stumbles upon an amateur beybattle and Daichi is frustrated that he cannot take part of it since his Gaia Dragoon is damaged. Kyojyu then unveils a new Gaia Dragoon he's been working on, equipped with the engine gear. Daichi is initially reluctant about using a beyblade other than his former one (which is said to have been given by his father in the English dub and the versions based on it), but he tests it against a local kid and easily wins, amazed with its power. Meanwhile, Barthez is having his beyblades verified (for some reason, some parts of the verification scenes were cut from the English dub and the versions based on it). Later, he comments on how stupid such verification processes are, since he can simply replace the legal blades after the test. As he readies his team, he explains that he's devised a special spider web-like tape that is activated via a remote control and is supposed to shoot out of his team's blades and trap their opponents in an inescapable web. Miguel is torn and knows that if they follow his coach's plan they could win, but he feels he'd rather lose with respect than cheat. In the first battle, Aaron goes up against Yuri and both are nervous - Yuri for having lost his two previous matches, and Aaron because of Barthez. Yuri soon overcomes and holds his ground against Aaron. Barthez tries to unleash the web, but nothing happens. It becomes known that Aaron refused to use the 'fixed' blade and loses while using his original blade, enraging Barthez. Miguel is defiant and tell Barthez that he is fired and he and his teammates aren't going to be 'his puppets anymore' (in the original Japanese dub and the versions based on it, Barthez tries to punch Miguel in the face for his rebellion, but Miguel reminds him that he is in front of thousands of people and Barthez stops his fist before touching Miguel, shocked). Barthez leaves and warns Miguel that he stands no chance without him. Miguel steps into the ring against Kai and gives everything he's got. There are two different versions of the match: the original and the one from the English dub and the versions based on it. In the original, Miguel attacks Kai and then unleashes his Fire Execution special attack, providing him with gargoyle wings and a dark look on his face, then setting Dranzer on fire. Kai then asks him if he was really thinking he could defeat Dranzer with "such flames", breaks free from the fire and unleashes Blazing Gig, throwing Dark Gargoyle out of the stadium. In the English dub and the versions based on it, Miguel simply attacks Kai a couple of times, only to be thrown out of the dish by Dranzer's Blazing Gig - also, Barthez is seen commenting to himself that he was right about Miguel not standing a chance. In both versions, however, the entire audience and Kai himself congratulate Miguel on his fight, as well as his teammates. They leave the dish to prepare for their fifth match in the next round as Barthez lies knelled to the ground, frustrated and confused that people adore Miguel despite of his loss. Also, with three wins, the Neo Borg is the first team to advance to the finals.
19 "One For All...Free For All"
"NO ~Tsu!" (NOーーーッ!!)
May 12, 2003December 11, 2004
Rick and Max have an argument over Max's defeat to Kai. Rick thinks Max lost on purpose, but Max explains he was just trying to be fair. Rick pushes Max to the ground (this is not shown in the English dub and the versions based on it) and leaves. Meanwhile, the BBA Revolution team check on the results table to see who's out and who's got a chance to advance. Takao says all he has to do is to win (for some reason, parts of this dialog were cut from the English dub and the versions based on it). Bahuzu is seen shopping in a street market and Mariah eventually meets Rick battling amateur bladers in an alley. They talk about the meaning of Beyblade and until Rei and Lee arrive and Rick mocks them for not being so tough. As the battle is about to begin, Max demands they fight a "pairs" match so that he and Rick are forced to work as a team. Rick is furious and grabs Max by the t-shirt (this is not shown in the English dub and the versions based on it), but Bahuzu accepts the terms and they head for the stadium. Rick's ego gets the best of him and he deliberately ignores Max's recommendations, eventually sending Galeon to collide with Draciel. Max is frustrated with Rick and eventually the two find themselves battling each other. After Max's unleashed Gravity control on Rock Bison, Rei and Lee take the chance to use their special attacks on it too, but, much to everyone's surprise, Rock Bison is still spinning even after taking three different special attacks. Mariah then tells Rei and Lee that they should battle each other and find out who is the best blader out of the four of them. Lee is initially reluctant, but Rei starts slamming him and he is soon convinced, though the audience is confused. A beyblading free for all ensues until the final climactic battle when only one blade is left spinning. The winner, Lee, is surprised that he was the last man standing and Rick finally learns to beyblade for the fun of it, nut just to win.
20 "Burdens of a Champion"
"Takao ... I not lose" (負けるなよ…タカオ)
May 19, 2003December 18, 2004
The Egyptian leg of the World Championships culminates with the final match highlighting F Sangre against the BBA Revolution. The day before the match, Takao has Daichi practice moves with him that they're not usually accustomed to doing: namely, tag-team attacks. F Sangre is renowned for their tag-team abilities, and Takao wants nothing more than to beat them at their own game. He knows this will be a challenge, as F Sangre has already used the tag-team format to defeat Baihuzu earlier in the tournament. But as the former Beyblade world champion, Takao feels it's his duty to prove that he's the best, specially after becoming greatly inspired by Max's and Rei's last man standing match. F Sangre meanwhile, foregoes practicing in favor of another public show of their beyblading skills for a crowd of onlookers. One dialog between their coach Romero and one suited man was for some reason cut from the English dub and the versions based on it. In a flashback to their childhood, it is revealed that Raul and Julia were born to and raised by a circus traveling group and practiced hard since their childhood to become part of the act. They seemed unable to do the simplest of the tricks, until Romero introduced them to the world of beyblading. As their show ends, Romero performs a magic trick that makes an apple disappear from his hand only to appear on top of the suited man's head (for some reason, this was also cut from the English dub and the versions based on it). When the day of the match arrives, Takao specifically requests the two-on-two format and F Sangre agrees. The sand-filled Sahara dish gives Takao and Daichi the pre-battle advantage, but during the match, Takao's beyblade has trouble keeping up. Coach Hiro realizes that the pressure Takao is feeling to carry his team as the former Beyblade champion is affecting his performance. Takao eventually gets back in the game and unleashes a twin tornado attack with Daichi. When it seems they are about to win, Takao loses pace and the tornado is gone, leaving them vulnerable. Raul and Julia pull off another spectacular tag-team assault and defeat Takao and Daichi. In the English dub and the versions based on it, it is said that all teams remaining have two wins and two losses, though Barthez Batallion has actually only one win and the Neo Borg only one loss.
21 "Under Pressure"
"Daze Dasadasa!" (ダサダサだぜ!)
May 26, 2003December 25, 2004
The World Championship reaches its fifth and final round in Australia. The final matches will be F Sangre vs. Barthez Batallion; Neo Borg vs. Bahuzu and BBA Revolution vs. PPB All Starz. Takao is feeling the pressure of being World Champion but, despite Hiro's warning, a television crew follows him around for a day, taping his every move. The English dub and the versions based on it omit a number of scenes such as Daichi's brief argument with Hiromi and himself losing his swimsuit after jumping in the pool. The original Japanese version also featured a brief homage to Ashita no Joe during the scene where Daichi boxes with a kangaroo and joey, which is greatly shortened in the English dub and versions based upon it. The TV crew eventually ask Takao to have a fight and a three-way match is held between Takao, Daichi and Kyojyu, with Takao struggling to keep up and eventually losing like an amateur. Takao contemplates quitting and wanders to the Beystadium to be alone with his thoughts. Daichi confronts him and challenges him to a match. During the beybattle, Takao is reminded of how it feels to beyblade for the pure love of the game and the pressure disappears when he realizes he doesn't have to beyblade like a champion. Takao later meets Kai, Max and Rei on top of the Uluru and tells them that, from now on, they are all challengers and any one of them could end up as champion.
22 "Sibling Rivalry"
"You win if you!" (アンタなら勝てる!)
June 2, 2003January 1, 2005
The final elimination round is underway, with F Sangre trying to earn the last play-off slot, while their opponents, the already mathematically eliminated Barthez Battalion try to spoil their chances by heading to the stadium or the first time without their coach Barthez. Feeling like the weak link of the team, Raul surprises Julia during a meal by insisting he battles solo for F Sangre, in order to prove his worth. Julia reluctantly agrees though she blames Raul for their first two defeats (though she also lost her solo battles). In the first match, Julia easily defeats Miguel in a grass stadium filled with trees and with the entire audience's support, piling even more pressure on Raul (for some reason, Miguel's special attack was cut from the English dub and the versions based on it). The Barthez Batallion then decide to send Mathilda for the next match. Since her beyblade Pierce Hedgehog was destroyed in her previous match with Daichi, her three friends decide to create a new beyblde using parts of their own beyblades: Death Gargoyle's attack ring, Rushing Boar's weight disk and Killer Eagle's (renamed Rapid Eagle in the English dub and the versions based on it) base. Mathilda then completes it with her bit beast chip. In the second match, Raul freezes under the pressure, and it looks like he is a sitting duck. But Julia steps in to explain to Raul that the only reason she has so much confidence in battle is because she has him at her side. This fires Raul up, and he battles back to steal the victory (for some reason, parts of the fight were cut from the English dub and the versions based on it, such as Raul glancing at the camera flashes from the audience and half of his special attack). The Barthez Battalion team are eliminated, but they are very gracious in defeat. As for Raul, he feels confident and Julia is proud of him. The next match is between Bahuzu and the Neo Borg, with Yuri and Lee battling each other for the first game. As they launch their beybldes, Lee has Galeon slamming Wolborg with full force, but Yuri simply smiles and thinks to himself that Lee is wasting his energy and will soon be under his mercy.

Yuri easily defeats Lee and the Bahuzu member desolately leaves the dish. Rei comforts his teammate and the entire Bahuzu team rip off small parts of their clothes and tie them to Rei's left arm before he faces off against his former Bladebreaker colleague Kai. Takao and his teammates discuss the battle and Daichi says that whoever wins will lose to him. Hiromi is fed up and throw several objects on Daichi though, for some reason, this was cut from the English dub and the versions based on it. As the match begins in a stadium filled with aboriginal totems, they seem to be at par, but when they unleash their special attacks, Rei collapses. Blader DJ is ready to declare Kai as the winner, but the Bahuzu team grabs hold of him and point the still-spinning Driger. Rei finds his remaining strength and attacks Kai with everything he's got. Kai then mentions a special attack he has been developing and Yuri recalls confronting Kai as he returned from an uninformed activity. Kai simply ignored him and Yuri noticed his arm was full of scars (for some reason, this was not shown in the English dub and the versions based on it). Yuri then followed Kai's footsteps on the snow and found a gigantic rock cut in half - now he realizes all that damage was caused by Kai testing his new attack. However, Rei also has a new move of his own, the Gatling Claw Maximum: he uses it against Kai, but Kai releases Blazing Gig Tempest (for some reason, parts of Kai releasing that move were cut from the English dub and the versions based on it), which sends a severely damaged Driger out of the stadium. Rei falls, but Lee catches him and congratulates him on his fight, as well as his friends, which are all proud of him despite being eliminated. Kai then leaves as if it has been an easy match, but at the corridor he succumbs to his exhaustion and checks on his damaged Dranzer, congratulating Rei and confident that he is ready to take on Takao.

June 16, 2003January 15, 2005
The tournament in Australia continues and this round pits the PPB All Starz against the BBA Revolution. Daichi is frustrated that Takao is still getting most of the attention. He leaves for the toilet and his teammates begin to reflect on his importance to the team. Yuri meets Daichi as he leaves the toilet and asks him to reach the final so they can have a rematch. The first battle sees Daichi playing against Rick. Daichi seems a little overconfident going into battle as his sights are set on the bigger prize, fighting in the finals with Takao. Rick on the other hand is more realistic. Apart from battling for the first time as a real PPB All Starz, counting on his teammates' support, he understands where he comes from and that he's lucky to be where he is, yet he too wants to get this battle behind him. The fight is a tough one. In fact, the combatants are going at it so hard that the entire arena is filled with the acrid smell of burnt metal. This seems to be a battle of wills rather than blades as each Blader attempts to summon every ounce of power that they can. In the end, Daichi proves to be the winner, and Rick is devastated. Daichi on the other hand has used so much energy that he passes out. Now it's time for the next round, and it pits Takao against his former teammate, Max.

Rick is frustrated on his loss and Max promises to keep the PPB All Starz on the championship. Takao and Max then face off against each other in the Ayers Rock stadium, which reminds them of their meeting in a previous episode (see episode 21). The two old friends use two totally different blading styles in the dish. Takao takes the offense while Max hangs back and chooses for a more defensive style. Takao has a tough time battling Max and when Dragoon starts to lose power he starts his engine gear. When he goes in for the final hit, Max suddenly goes on the offense and starts Draciel's engine gear. Hiro advices Takao to finish the battle as fast as possible, and Takao pushes Max to the edge of the stadium. Max manages to hold on and strikes back, eventually releasing his special attack Gravity Control. Just when it looks like Dragoon is going to be knocked out, Takao manages to have Dragoon surf Draciel's waves and then unleashes a second Galaxy Storm (for some reason, the cutscene with Takao releasing the attack was cut from the English dub and the versions based on it), defeating Max and eliminating him from the competition. This allows the BBA Revolution, to move on to the final round of the competition. Takao congratulates Max and asks him to be his friend again. Max's friends comfort him and Judy is glad that they did their best and that Rick is finally getting along with the team. Yuri and Kai watch from afar and Kai wows to defeat Takao in the final. On his way out of the stadium, Takao checks on his severely damaged Dragoon and comments on how Max didn't let him win without a struggle.

The Neo Borg, the BBA Revolution, and F Sangre arrive in Japan for the finals of the World Championship, though the BBA is yet to determine how they will compete for the title. With the PPB All Starz eliminated from the tournament, Max visits his father and then drops by the local community center where he meets Rei and recalls telling Takao at that very place that they were leaving the Bladebreakers. Takao goes home to visit Grandpa, and Daichi tags along, making himself a little too at home in the process. Grandpa is impressed by Takao's newfound seriousness when it comes to his martial arts training. Coach Romero of F Sangre gives Raul and Julia a surprise when he brings them to visit the circus, which just happens to be in town (a scene in which he is shown with some ice cream around his mouth was for some reason cut from the English dub and the versions based on it; another censored scene involved Takao and Daichi briefly and non-seriously engaging in a physical fight). At the BBA Headquarters, Kaichou discusses the finals format with Hiro, Romero and Yuri. They agree that the Neo Borg, with four wins and one lose, should advance to the final match; while the BBA Revolution and the F Sangre, tied with three wins and two loses, must battle in a play-off match to determine who's taking on Neo Borg. Takao surprises everyone at the press conference by requesting that his match be a tag-team battle. Kyojyu gives Takao his newly created Dragoon Galaxy Turbo, an improved version of Dragoon Galaxy, which performs well in tag-team practice. Takao and Daichi test it against Hiro's dual Death Driger and prove they are capable of defeating another team in a tag battle.

The entire city is pumped for Takao and Daichi's rematch with F Sangre in double-team play at a stadium with a dragon in the middle of it, providing a kind of a spiral climb. At first, the awesome power of BBA Revolution has Raul and Julia on their heels. Raul manages to save Julia from a stadium out and his big sister lets him take command. Encouraged by the support of their circus family, the brother and sister use their experience and teamwork to push the BBA Revolution to the brink of defeat, while Romero recalls their union since they've been kids (one scene of Raul falling of a unicycle was for some reason cut from the English dub and the versions based on it). Takao and Daichi are losing strength when they realize they are having the time of their lives. Daichi releases his special attack Great Cutter and forces his opponents up the dragon pathway, with Takao chasing them, and from where they jump confidently. Then, much to everyone's surprise, Daichi slams Dragon and sends it right towards Torch and Thunder Pegasus. Takao then releases his new special attack Turbo Galaxy Twister and wins the match. Raul and Julia are stunned to hear the crowd cheering for them and are overwhelmed with pride.

The finals have finally arrived and BBA Revolution gets ready to face the Neo Borg in a heated battle. As the two best teams prepare for the final battle, some of the eliminated participants take part of an exhibition match, involving many beyblades at the same time. Rei and Max try to prolong their battle so Takao has more time to recover from his previous match, but a forgotten Mariah puts an end to their fight and finishes the match. Meanwhile, Takao and Daichi take a nap and Kyojyu performs a routine check-up of Dragoon, which turns up a faulty gear assembly, which needs to be repaired. Time is running out, and Daichi has to stretch out his match with Yuri to give Kyojyu the time he needs to fix Takao's beyblade. Meanwhile, Kai asks Brian and Sergei to help him with something before his match against Takao. Eventually, Yuri figures out his opponent's plan and tries to finish him off, but Kyojyu emerges with the rest of the BBA Revolution and brings the fixed Dragoon. Daichi then tries to finish the match once and for all, but Yuri still has much power left. They end up in a tie, with both of their beyblades thrown out of the stadium at the same time and visibly damaged. Daichi regrets he didn't win and that his beyblade got so much damage, and then passes out and Takao screams his name. In the English dub and the versions based on it, Daichi simply falls down, but says "I'm OK" with his face not actually being shown when he says that.

Daichi and Yuri have both been thrown from the dish at the same time. Because they are both exhausted and their beyblades have taken too much damage for a rematch, Kaichou rules that the next match will determine the new tournament Champion. Takao walks up to the dish and a visibly battered and bruised Kai shows up and announces Takao wasn't the only one to have fought that day. He also unveils his new Dranzer Gigs Turbo. Some images of Sergei and Brian passed out and their heavily damaged Fallborg and Seaborg are shown (for some reason, these were cut from the English dub and the versions based on it). Everyone deduces he had a fight just so he could have put himself at Takao's level of physical exhaustion. Because of the power levels involved, Kaichou unveils a new stadium dish, a large rocky terrain hidden under the floor of the main stadium, which Blader DJ introduces as "the largest indoor beystadium ever used". Takao recalls some of his fights throughout the championship (Japanese dub exclusive), while Kai recalls taking Sergei and Brian to the room where he battled them (English dub exclusive). Yuri is then shown locating his teammates, though in the English dub and in the versions based on it their bodies are not shown. As the battle starts, both opponents are so determined to win that every time their beybaldes collide, energy shock waves are generated and affect the entire stadium and its audience. Kai eventually has Takao fall of the edge and into the stadium, rolling down the rocks, which causes his teammates to come check at him (for some reason, this is not shown in the English dub and the versions based on it; instead, Takao is simply shown about to fall and then gets up back on his feet. Kai then sets Dranzer on fire (for some reason, this is not shown in the English dub and the versions based on it) and attacks Takao, which escapes and generates a tornado, bringing Kai down to the stadium the same way he did (and again, for some reason, Kai rolling down is not shown in the English dub and the versions based on it). Kai and Takao assemble their final forces and head for the final part of the match.

July 28, 2003February 26, 2005
The battle continues and the ex-team members unleash everything they've got (images of Dranzer up in flames were for some reason cut from the English dub and the versions based on it). When they head for their final attacks, the power is so much that the roof of the stadium is destroyed as their bit beasts emerge to the skies, altering the clouds formations. In the end, both their beyblades have stopped spinning and both are passed out. Takao and Kai recover and prepare to launch their beyblades again, but Kyojyu advises his teammate not do to so before checking Dragoon. Meanwhile, Kaichou has to make the final decision and he's leaning toward calling it a tie because he's afraid that if they continue the battle, someone could get hurt. Kaichou announces his decision to declare both teams as the winners, but Kai steps up to the plate and pleads his case for the battle to continue. Earning immediate audience support, Kaichou has no choice but to give in. As the fight resumes, the intensity is felt throughout the arena. Takao jumps from rock to rock, while Dranzer destroys them all (for some reason, this is not shown in the English dub and the versions based on it). The match is actually so insane they are sent to different dimensions. In the end, after one final attack, both beyblades are still spinning, but showing sights of weakening. Takao almost falls, but manages to keep standing. Kai succumbs and loses. Takao is declared the World Champion for a third time and is greeted by his friends. Kai leaves and recognizes his defeat, stating that if he had to be defeated by anyone, this should have been Takao. Yuri realizes he tried to use Kai to become a World Champion, but in the end it was Kai who used him in order to have one final battle against Takao.

"Goodbye!" (じゃあな!)
August 4, 2003March 5, 2005
Takao is the first athlete to become beyblade champion for a third time and Daichi is jealous that he is getting all the attention. He decides the only way he can get the respect he deserves is to go on a training mission and come back and defeat Takao on his own. Kyojyu eventually meets him and tells him of an upcoming show of popstar Ming-Ming. Later, he hitches a ride on a truck and falls asleep but wakes up far away from home, alone and hungry. Eventually he runs into Max and his father who invite him back to their house for dinner. During the meal Max squirts mustard on Daichi's steak telling him it will make it taste better. This disgusts Daichi, and in his anger he insults Max and his father. Max takes offense and challenges Daichi to a Beyblade battle. The match is a close one and Daichi is confident he can beat Max but he was beaten by Max's strength. He decides that the only way he can become a better Blader is to start training with Max. Meanwhile Takao discovers Daichi gone and wonders why and where his Blading partner has gone.

A news bulletin announces that the BBA has been bought to be transformed in a new professional league and Kaichou has resigned from his position as Chairman. Takao, Hiromi and Kyojyu go off in search of their old friend and meet Max and Daichi in front of the former BBA headquarters, which is being demolished. Eventually they meet Kaichou, who reveals that the board of the BBA had completed the plans to sell the league while he was occupied with the World Championships. Takao resolves to show up at the press conference the next day and discover who is behind the plot. The new pro-league is announced by Blader DJ to be BEGA - Beyblde Entertainment Global Association, headquartered in a tall skyscraper built at the BBA's former lot. The kids are soon faced with the new singing sensation, Ming-Ming, who announces that not only is she the official mascot of the BEGA League but also one of its top ranked professional Beybladers. Meanwhile, some men in front of TV screens announce to a shadowy figure that Takao has been located. Back to the press conference, Ming-Ming notices the presence of Max, Daichi and Takao and metaphors into a grown up, teenage girl. Afterwards, she shows off her beyblading skills. Takao challenges her to Beybattle and Ming-Ming accepts under the condition that Takao beat her entire Ming-Ming Band. Max and Daichi join him for a three-on-three match. The members perform while beybattling, which gives them extra energy to fight at par with the World Champions. Max eventually realizes their source of energy and figures that all they have to do is to understand the musical pattern. In the end, they defeat the three opponents. Before they can challenge Ming-Ming, the shadowy figure shown before shows up and announces he's the one behind BEGA. The figure then reveals itself to be Boris, the ex-manager of the Biovolt Corporation and the Neo Borg team that Takao and the Bladebreakers had to face in the first season in order to become World Champions (see the list of episodes of that season for details).

"Apologize!" (あやまれ!!)
August 18, 2003March 19, 2005
Takao, Max, Kyojyu and Daichi are invited by Boris to take a tour inside his new BEGA headquarters. Hiromi isn't allowed inside until the official public opening, and is sent away, much to her chagrin (for some reason, some scenes of her outrage were cut from the English dub and the versions based on it). The boys find that the BEGA building is unparalleled in the quality of its Beyblade training and facilities. Impressive as it is however, Takao is still highly distrustful of Boris. Boris tries to convince Takao that he's changed. Ever since his scheme was uncovered, he roamed throughout his homeland doing some soul searching. There, while watching some village children Beyblade, he had an epiphany. He realized that Beyblading is all about honor and individuality, and he made it his new goal to bring Beyblading to the masses. That's why he took over the BBA and turned it into BEGA – as a way to give children around the world that had no exposure to the game a chance to better their lives and become champions themselves. Takao is still skeptical, and his bad-mouthing of Boris draws the ire of another top BEGA prospect – a juggernaut named Moses (Crusher in the English dub and the versions based on it), whose Beyblade launcher is the biggest one the boys have ever seen. When grilled by Takao about his motives for joining this professional league, Moses admits he's doing it for the prospect of getting rich, but only so he can afford to pay his younger sister's hospital bills. A Beybattle ensues, and Moses shows he's even more powerful than he looks. Meanwhile, two BEGA professionals watch the fight from another floor. Eventually, one of them, named Brooklyn, senses Takao's gonna win and leaves. Takao is nearly defeated, but he summons his will and indeed narrowly defeats his jumbo-sized opponent, at the cost of Dragoon's attack ring, that gets severely damaged. When Boris asks Takao if he now believes he's sincere in his reasons for creating BEGA, Takao still isn't sure. But he does admit that if spirited and honorable bladers like Moses are in it, maybe there is some merit in the new league after all. Boris takes Takao's hand and makes him touch his heart with it (for some reason, this was not shown in the English dub and the versions based on it). Meanwhile, Hiromi continues her outrage by playing with some hammer arcade game. She hits it so strong that eventually one of the pieces is thrown far away (for some reason, this was not shown in the English dub and the versions based on it). Then, Ming-Ming's voice comes out of the game to congratulate Hiromi, saying that "she's almost as good as her", which enrages Hiromi even more, though her new outrage session was, again, made shorter in the English dub and the versions based on it.
34 "The Mysterious Mystel"
"Name of Kimi ..." (キミの名は…)
August 25, 2003March 26, 2005
A mysterious stranger wanders the woods of Baihuzu Hills, the headquarters of the Baihuzu team, and although this strange young man performs incredible good deeds, Lee and the rest of the team are suspicious, and tell their leader Rei, all about him. It isn't long until the entire team meets up with him again, and Rei comes face to face with the stranger's incredible abilities like leaping, flying and jumping through the air, not to mention Beyblading like a world champion. He calls himself Mystel and amazes Lee and Rei with the mixture of his incredible acrobatics and Beyblading skills. Lee imagines how good the Baihuzu team would be if they knew how to move like Mystel, and, after challenging their new guest to a battle, has high hopes that he'll share his secrets. But Lee is humiliated by a quick loss, and now it's Rei's turn. Mystel has his beyblade Poseidon dodge Driger's every move, but eventually he steps on a broken rock and falls from high up above. Rei manages to catch him, and the match ends in a tie (for some reason, the scenes of Mystel falling were cut from the English dub and the versions based on it). After the battle, Mystel informs Rei and Lee about the new BEGA group and even tells them that Takao is the newest member. As Mystel leaves, Rei decides to go with him to check on things out personally, since he is reluctant to accept the end of BBA.

Takao can't seem to make up his mind whether or not to trust Boris and go pro. When the team is visited by a rabid pack of sponsors who want to sign them to product contracts, Grandpa is forced to step in and recommend that Takao have a talk with his more experienced brother, Hiro. Meanwhile, Boris discusses the possibility of having Takao in his team with Garland. While looking for Hiro, Takao and friends come across Yuri, Bryan and Sergei, who are on their way to get revenge on Boris by bringing the BEGA league down around him. Takao is torn between following Yuri, and respecting Yuri's wish that he stay out of it. At the BEGA headquarters, Yuri, Sergei, and Bryan confront Boris and demand to face his top beybladers. Boris accepts their challenge, but puts them up against some first-level recruits instead to make them feel overconfident. After Yuri and the Boys have defeated the BEGA team, Garland jumps from a balcony (for some reason, part of the scene showing him falling was cut from the English dub and the versions based on it) and challenges them to a battle. Boris promises to dismantle the league if they beat Garland but they have to join his pro league if Garland beats them. Yuri refuses the deal and thinks to himself that Boris would never put so much at stake if he wasn't sure of Garland's capabilities. However, Garland wants to battle anyway as a point of pride. Takao and the gang arrive just in time to see Garland defeat Bryan and Sergei in a two-on-one battle, melting parts of their beyblades (their fainted bodies beside Yuri are not shown in the English dub and the versions based on it). Yuri is next and the episode ends with him saying "damn you" to Garland, though for some reason the English dub and the versions based on it cut this final line.

"Messing around!" (ふざけるな!)
September 8, 2003April 9, 2005
BEGA announce in the press the match between Yuri and Garland and the stadium is filled with spectators in a matter of minutes, much to everyone's surprise. Even Blader DJ is rushed to the stadium. Rei arrives with Mystel and both watch from afar. The battle starts and Garland just lets Yuri attack so that he runs out of energy. Mid-battle, Yuri asks Garland why such a talented beyblader like him decided to join BEGA. Garland then explains he is a member of the Siebald family, the youngest of six children who aim to be the number one in their sports. His siblings have already achieved success in baseball, football, golf, tennis and Formula 1, and he wants to be the number one beyblader. When it becomes clear that Yuri wil never understand his reasons, Garland decides to finish the battle. Yuri eventually takes Garland down with his Novae Rog attack (a scene with Garland sent flying was cut from the English dub and the versions based on it. Some blood dripping from his mouth was also digitally removed). As the battle rages on, the spectators start to get bored since Yuri has lost his energy and Boris is worried that he will fail to entertain the public. When Garland's Apollon knocks Wolborg out of the stadium, bars rise up out of the floor and Yuri's blade kept in the dish. Boris than announces that the battle will only end if one of the beyblades stop spinning. Meanwhile, Kai is seen in front of BEGA's building. As the battle continues, Garland aggressively beats Yuri, weakening him (some scenes of Yuri getting hurt were cut from the English dub and the versions based on it). Kai arrives at a balcony and Hiro appears later to talk to him about BEGA. When Takao and the others realize Yuri can get hurt, Takao demands Boris to end the fight. Boris says he has taken notes on Takao complains and signalizes to Garland, giving him thumbs up for the end of the match. Garland then launches his special attack Radiant Thunder and knocks Yuri meters away, damaging the stadium. Yuri uses his last amounts of energy to reveal in Takao's arms that the Barthez Batallion was actually BEGA's exhibition team that went wrong after Miguel and his friends realized they should not blindly obey their ruthless coach. Enraged, Takao yells out at Boris telling him his whole BEGA outfit is bogus and he challenges the shadowy figure to a battle. Boris accepts the challenges and announces that if BEGA loses, he will dissolve it. Rei shows up and joins his former teammate. Kai also appears, but walks right by Takao to join BEGA, leaving the World Champion shocked and speechless.
37 "The BEGA Challenge"
"It is 1000%!" (1000%だ!)
September 15, 2003April 16, 2005
Boris announces the challenge suggested by Takao will be a five-beyblader team fight. Takao's team include Max, Rei and Daichi, but they are clueless as to who can be their fifth element, since Kai joined BEGA. The sponsors that once knocked at Takao's door to offer him lucrative deals appear again to announce they are withdrawing their proposals since Takao is now up against BEGA. Kaichou also reveals that beybladers not enlisted on Bori's organization are unlikely to be able to buy new parts. Hiromi goes on search for a shop that still sells beyblade parts for non-members of BEGA. A special news bulletin announces BEGA has called a press conference to announce their new special coach, who will prepare their bladers for the challenge. Everyone is surprised that the mysterious coach is Hiro, BBA Revolution's former coach. Takao is shocked that even his own brother has switched sides and goes to a park, where he punches a tree in anger (for some reason, this was not shown in the English dub and the versions based on it). Rei, who followed him, advices him not to be so angry on Kai and Hiro and grabs his jacket (for some reason, this was not shown in the English dub and the versions based on it), demanding him to understand that he is the one everyone wants to defeat. Takao asks if he and Max are going to leave him too, and Rei says he's got no intention of doing it, but challenges Takao for a battle in order to find "something" out. A furious battle ensues and Kyojyu is worried that if they damage their beyblades too much, they won't be able to repair it with new parts in time for the competition, since BEGA now controls everything - indeed, Hiromi is seen trying to buy parts to no avail, since she's not registered with BEGA. Takao and Rei launch their final attacks and Takao hardly wins, leaving Dragoon and Driger severely damaged. Max then deduces Rei wanted to battle Takao because he was the only former Bladebreaker who didn't have the chance to battle Takao at his best (check episode 10 above for details), which Rei confirms. Kyojyu is horrified to find out that Dragoon and Driger are unusable and unable to be repaired since they ran out of parts - a situation that is worsened as Hiromi returns and says she couldn't find any store willing to sell parts for non-BEGA members. Daichi then suggests they make their own beyblades from zero, which the team accepts.
38 "BEGA on the Rise"
"I'll see hell" (地獄を見るぞ)
September 22, 2003April 23, 2005
Boris shows Hiro his beybladers, and Hiro choses Brooklyn, which Boris introduces as "BEGA's most powerful weapon". Meanwhile, Takao and his friends find themselves unable to practice because Boris has cornered the market on new parts. Daichi decides to get out and demand Boris to let go of the monopoly, but accidentally hits Hiromi on his way out. Hiromi is angry and hits him in the head with her bag full of supermarket goods (for some reason, this was not shown in the English dub and the versions based on it). Hiromi then tells them that she saw some kids bullying another child for not being a member of BEGA. Meanwhile, Boris is satisfied with the progress of his top bladers, who are training heavily in a series of practice and exhibition matches. Ming Ming easily dispatch the amateur team that the Neo Borg faced before falling to Garland. Mystel is shown easily defeating ten beybladers at once, only to disappear completely later, about which Boris does not get upset, since he knows "great bladers cannot be tamed". Moses visits his ill sister at the hospital and she gives him a small token built after him, leading him to tears. Back at BEGA's training facilities, Kai and Garland have a practice match. As their beyblades clash, the beybladers themselves engage on a physical fight, with Kai effectively blocking Garland's every move (for some reason, this was not shown in the English dub and the versions based on it). Eventually, Kai hits Garland in the face, causing some blood to drip from his mouth (this was also cut from the English dub and the versions based on it). The match ends in a tie, with both sides deducing their opponent did not give everything he's got. Later, Hiro coaches Brooklyn into performing better launches, and Brooklyin is able to destroy one rock by attempting a simple shot. Garland and Kai watch from the building and he explains to Kai that Brooklyn is from a totally different level and that he was never able to be more than a good warm up for him. Later, Kai deduces Hiro only joined BEGA to force Takao to get stronger and that he is now amazed with Brooklyn's talent. Hiro confirms that Brooklyn is unbelievably powerful and Kai is no match for him, which Garland later endorses in the corridor. Still, Kai wants to battle him and find more about such powerful blader.

Takao and Daichi disguise themselves in an effort to get badly needed replacement parts for their damaged Beyblades. But without an official BEGA I.D. card signifying membership in the new league they're shut out from getting parts at any store. Despairing about how they'll solve this dilemma, they're visited by members of various teams they fought against in the World Championships: Baihuzu, PPB All Starz, Barthez Battalion, and F Sangre. These former foes don't like Boris and his professional BEGA league either, seeing this new entity as a threat to the sport of Beyblading. They vow to help Takao and the other members of the BBA Revolution in whatever way they can to overthrow BEGA. Meanwhile, Emily and Michael deliver some hardware for Kyojyu to develop new beyblades. Later, he reveals to them the blueprints of "the most powerful beyblade ever created". Boarding a bus to the location there Takao and Daichi trained before the World Championship, the group discuss who's going to form the team to face off against BEGA. Julia, Mariah and Matilda comment that one of the members should be a girl, just like the BEGA has Ming Ming. Hiromi then surprises all by displaying her new "Hiromi Star Flash" persona in an attempt to secure a spot on the team as a player. Her skills with Kyojyu's Hopper are lacking however, and she's relegated to helping Kaichou, Grandpa and Mr. Mizuhara prepare food for the group. But despite Hiromi's setback, Mariah, Julia and Mathilda show the boys that the girls can indeed compete for one of the five player positions on the squad. When night comes, some scenes of the bladers eating and sleeping are shown, but parts of them were for some reason removed from the English dub and the versions based on it. After another day of training, Takao reflects on the team's capabilities as "underdogs". Kyojyu then shows up with Miguel and Emily - the trio succeeded in utilizing data from past battles and leftover parts to create the revolutionary new Beyblade Dragoon Metal Storm, a smaller type of beyblade. Takao promptly prepares to give it a try, but as he pulls the ripcord, his body is pushed far back, knocking Rei and Rick in the process. Dragoon MS destroys some rocks and lands hardly on the ground, creating a crater. Everyone is struck with awe by the power of such beyblade.
40 "Back to Basics"
"Or give up?" (ギブアップか?)
October 6, 2003May 7, 2005
Kyojyu explains that the new Hard Metal beyblades are hard to control due to their smaller but heavier attack rings. Takao applies him a rear naked choke to mock him, but the scene was cut from the English dub and the versions based on it. Takao, Daichi, Rei and Max all give their beyblades a try, but are unable to control them and grow frustrated on their failures. Meanwhile, Boris hosts a press conference in which he explains Takao and his friends are "radicals who oppose Beyblade progress of any kind" and are willing to destroy everything he worked for. He then announces his Justice 5 tournament as a response to Takao's challenge. Back at the training camp, Dragoon and Gaia Dragoon eventually run away from Takao and Daichi and they set off in search for them, failing numerous times to collect them back. Eventually, Takao and Daichi recall making their first attempts of beyblading as kids and realize controlling the Hard Metal beyblades is all about going back to basics. Suddenly, they stumble upon a bear. By reflex, they manage to have their beyblades take down two trees to block the bear. Meanwhile, Rei and Max also realize they should train as if they were newbies with beyblading and finally manage to control their new Draciel and Driger blades against Rick and Lee. Takao and Daichi eventually reappear and knock Rick and Lee out of the dish.
41 "And Justice-Five For All"
"Of what you're going" (なんのつもりだ)
October 13, 2003May 14, 2005
Takao, Max and Rei struggle to learn the “Hard Metal” system with the help of some of their friends from the World Championship tournament. in a blink of an eye, Daichi loses focus and has his Gaia Dragon push Draciel towards a wall, destroying it completely. They still need one more member for the team, and Rick, Lee and Michael have all volunteered to fill the remaining slot. But first they have to prove they can master the new system, which proves a lot tougher than they thought. Meanwhile, Hiro and Boris discuss who is going to form the BEGA team to take part of Justice 5. Hiro lists their five best beybladers: Garland, Mystel, Moses, Ming-Ming and Kai. Boris misses Brooklyn and Hiro explains he has avoided public appearances, so he is still unranked. Boris then demands Hiro to convince Brooklyn to join BEGA. Hiro suggests BEGA hold a tournament to give some unknown Beyblader's a chance to try to make the "Bega Bladers" team. Boris knows that they probably won't be able to beat his Pro's but he also wants to see the mysterious Brooklyn in action. He creates five groups of beybladers, each of them containing one of the five top-ranked beybladers. The non-top beybladers protest, feeling the championship is a fake and the winners were already decided. Boris explains that if they want to become professionals, they must defeat BEGA's best names. The tournament plays out as expected with the original BEGA pros all securing a spot on the team with ease. Brooklyn is finally seen in action, but he simply dodges his opponent's every attack, until he eventually stops spinning. The final match of Group E will see Kai facing off against Brooklyn for the final spot on the team. Kai launches a fire attack on Brooklyn, with absolutely no effect. Brooklyn then copies Kai's move and effectively hits Dranzer with it, much to everyone's surprise.
42 "When You Wish Upon A Star"
"'s Mr. X!" (ミスターXだ!)
October 20, 2003May 21, 2005
Kai's attack (which was for some reason partially cut from the English dub and the versions based on it) causes no effect on Brooklyn's blade, and Brooklyn then copies it, effectively hitting Dranzer, much to everyone's surprise. Kai tries his best to take command but it seems Brooklyn mirrors his every move. Brooklyn starts slamming Kai's blade, with every hit hurting Kai's own body (some scenes showing Kai bleeding and getting hit and pushed around were cut from the English dub and the versions based on it). Hiro shows up behind Kai and explains to him that Brooklyn is from a whole different league and that Kai will never reach his level. Kai wants to prove him wrong so he can have a chance of taking on Takao and launches a full force attack on Brooklyn, setting his Dranzer on fire. However, Brooklyn simply cancels his attack and releases his special attack King of Darkness, which submerges Kai in a sea of darkness, only to knock him unconscious meter away, shattering Dranzer to pieces (some scenes of the attack were for some reason cut from the English dub and the versions based on it). Now the BEGA Blader's team has been picked, it's up to Takao and his crew to set a team. After much discussion about it, they all agree it should be up to Takao to choose, but Takao doesn't say anything. Takao goes out for some fresh air and Kyojyu goes after him. He deduced Takao wanted Kai to rejoin the team, and Kyojyu unveils a Hard Metal Dranzer he developed. Just before Justice 5 begins, Takao and his friends pay a still unconscious Yuri a visit at the hospital. there, they meet Kaichou, which suggest they should be named "G Revolutions". Before leaving, Takao leaves the new Dranzer on Yuri's bed. As the tournament begins, they present only four Blader's, however, they finally reveal their fifth: 'Mr. X', which is actually just Grandpa in a mask. Now the first battle is about to begin and it pits Daichi against Ming Ming.
43 "Sing Ming Ming Sing!"
"Ayuredi?" (アーユーレディ?)
October 27, 2003May 28, 2005
As Daichi versus Ming-Ming begins, Daichi's goal is to prove that Ming Ming doesn't take Beyblading seriously and he vows to knock her out of the stadium early in the match. Before the match begins, a recovered but still beaten Kai is seen laying down in an alley. Back to Justice 5, Ming-Ming metaphors into her grown up, blader persona. Ming Ming gains the upper hand and this makes Daichi very annoyed. Eventually, she metaphors back into her singing persona and brings her band next to the dish to perform her hit song "Kira Kira Revolution" (though the English dub and the versions based on it use a totally different song, which actually matches the musicians' playing). Singing seems to make her blading improve and she slams Gaia Dragoon relentlessly. Kyojyu, after being strangulated by Hiromi for being such a devoted fan of Ming Ming's (though the scene was removed from the English dub and the versions based on it), realizes that it's her voice that helps her concentrate on her blade and Takao tells Daichi of her secret. Daichi uses his own voice to unleash the full power of Gaia Dragoon, engulfing him and Ming-Ming in a dark, prehistoric scenario with an erupting volcano, but Ming Ming counter attacks with her V-Temptation special attack, which cancels Daichi's move and engulfs them in a world of colorful flowery fields filled with cute animals, which weakens Gaia Dragoon and makes it much easier for Venus to knock it out of the dish. Daichi is frustrated, but congratulates Ming Ming. Takao and the others realize that the Bega Bladers intend to fight fairly and they all vow to do their very best to win the next battle.
44 "Refuse to Lose"
"I absolutely win!" (絶対に勝つ!!)
November 3, 2003June 4, 2005
It's the second match of the Justice Five Battle and Rei and Moses are facing off against each other. With Ming Ming's win against Daichi in the previous match, the BEGA League is already ahead by one so the pressure is on Rei to take the match. But Moses is feeling the pressure too, not only for himself and his teammates but for his sister, Monica, who is undergoing surgery at the very same time. From the beginning, the battle is fierce with both Blader's inflicting significant damage. Rei quickly gains the upper hand and it looks like its game over when he starts taking Moses's Gigars's pieces out. Meanwhile, at the hospital, Monica starts showing signals of weakening as Moses gets slammed by Rei. It is only once Moses calls upon the spirit of his brave, little sister that he is filled with the courage and strength necessary to match Rei, at the same time Monica starts to recover and fight back her disease. After partially destroying the miniature-sized city stadium, and having strong motivations, both beybladers unleash their final, special attacks. After the final clash, Driger and Gigars are still spinning and pushing each other mid-air above the totally trashed stadium. They eventually knock each other away as their bladers succumb to exhaustion. A vision of Monica appears over Gigars, and a piece of the stadium falls, hitting Moses' beyblade and forcing it back into the dish, only to explode in pieces due to the severe damages taken throughout the battle. Driger, on the other hand, is still spinning and in one peace - however, it landed out of the dish, making Moses the winner and putting BEGA two points ahead. Rei is sad, but recognizes Moses spirit. Moses thanks Rei and promises they will have another fight one day.
45 "Max to the Max"
"OK!" (OK!)
November 10, 2003June 11, 2005
Now that BEGA is two wins ahead of G Revolutions, it all comes down to Max's fight against Mystel. Max stumbles upon Boris on his way out of the toilet and Boris asks him to win the match or otherwise the tournament will become "boring" and people wil think he cheated to win. Takao and the others argue whether Max's signature defensive style will be enough to overcome Mystel's unpredictable and overpowering attack. Max takes this as a sign that his teammates only think he can win if he changes the way he Beyblades altogether. His confidence shattered, Max isolates himself and does some soul-searching. He receives a morale boost from Rick, who helps Max realize that his trademark style is what made him so successful as a Blader, and it would be foolish not to use it just because the odds are against him. As the match is about to begin, Takao and the others apologize to Max, who accepts it. Mystel jumps down from a very high window, impressing Max (for some reason, this was not shown in the English dub and the versions based on it). As the battle begins, Max adopts attacking patterns, surprising everyone. However, he quickly readopts his defensive style, allowing Poseidon to brutally slam Draciel. It seems Draciel is taking a lot of damage, but Kyojyu realizes Max is actually adjusting Draciel's pitch so that it takes as little damage as possible from Poseidon's attacks. Eventually, they release their special attacks, with Max's only managing to weaken Poseidon. He manages to hold his ground against Mystel and the match ends in a draw. The stalemate result isn't the victory that Max desired, but it successfully postpones any chance of losing the tournament for at least one more match.
46 "The Return of Kai"
"Torebia-pin!" (トレビア〜ン!)
November 17, 2003June 18, 2005
Kai pays Yuri a visit at the hospital and collects the new Dranzer Takao left it before the start of the tournament (the dialog has been altered in the English dub and the versions based on it; on the original dub, Kai simply says "Yuri..." and spots Dranzer on his bed. In the altered version, an unseen woman tells Kai that visiting hours are almost over, but Kai (shown from behind) simply answers "I'm not leaving". Before his mouth is shown, he also says "Tala" (Yuri's altered name in the English dub and the versions based on it) and asks "Can you hear me" when in the original Japanese dub he said his former teammate's name). Takao and the rest of the team are practicing furiously to guarantee a check in the win column for tomorrow's big match. Takao thinks no one on the team has the same skill with the Hard Metal Beyblade and he refuses to choose any of his teammates to Blade in the penultimate round of the tournament, insisting instead to blade both rounds himself. Meanwhile, Kai tries to practice with his new Dranzer, but is unable to control it (eventually Drazner hits some windows, which sends glass pieces flying towards Kai; this was for some reason cut from the English dub and the versions based on it). F Sangre's coach Romero, who was fishing nearby, finds Kai and knocks Dranzer out with his beyblade. He then offers himself to help Kai gain control of Dranzer and challenges him for a match. Kai eventually uses his will to defeat Brooklyn and Takao to regain control of Dranzer and win the battle. He then meets Takao and the others by the river where they were practicing.
47 "Now You're Making Me Mad"
"Huh?" (えっ!?)
November 24, 2003June 25, 2005
The second day of Justice 5 begins and Garland is expected to fight the fourth round. Takao and his friends approach the dish, and Takao reveals Kai as their fifth member, surprising everyone. Kai challenges Brooklyn and they start a massive battle with Kai trying desperately to somehow attack his opponent, but nothing seems to work and Brooklyn hits Kai easily (scenes of Kai getting physically hit were cut from the English dub and the versions based on it). Eventually, Kai realizes he must find the power within himself, and Romero at the stands deduces the Hard Metal system works by empowering a beyblade with its owner's own emotions. Smoke starts to get out of Dranzer and Kai launches a series of attacks, managing to knock Brooklyn's Zeus away for the first time. However, Brooklyn still has much power and generates a kind of black hole with his beyblade, dragging anything that's nearby, including Dranzer and Kai himself, who fell down on the stadium after one of Brooklyn's hits. Just as he approaches Zeus, Kai musters up some more energy and has Dranzer strike Zeus, knocking it away and almost out of the dish. Kai then manages to get back to the launching platform, but kneels down exhausted. when Rei and Max realize Kai is pushing it too hard, they try to interfere, but Daichi, Hiromi and Kyojyu hold them. Kai then wows to defeat his opponent and promises to do "whatever it takes".
48 "The Beyblading Spirit"
"Love it ...!" (愛だ…!)
December 1, 2003July 2, 2005
Kai managed to break out of Brooklyn's black hole, but he still gets heavily beaten by Brooklyn (scenes of Kai getting physically hit were cut from the English dub and the versions based on it). Kyojyu's lap top detects multiple damages on Dranzer and he ultimately closes the computer, admitting Kai won't stand any more chances. Rei and Max then head for the dish and try to stop the fight to save Kai, but Takao blocks their way and, in tears, begs them not to intervene in Kai's own battle. Brooklyn uses his special attack King of Darkness on Kai (just like in the occasion he used it against Kai in their first match, some scenes of the attack were for some reason cut from the English dub and the versions based on it). In the middle of the attack's cutscene, Takao's hand reaches for Kai, and he manages to escape it. Nevertheless, he passes out. Blader DJ declares Brooklyn the winner, but Dranzer is still spinning and Kai gets back up again. Brooklyn is impressed, but still confident of victory and continue to brutally hit Kai. However, every time he hits Kai (the scenes of Kai getting hit and falling were cut from the English dub and the versions based on it), the G Revolutions member gets back up again. Brooklyn notices he is sweating for the first time in his life and decides to attack with everything he's got. But Kai still resists. Eventually, Brooklyn goes insane due to Kai's insistence and starts releasing dark beams of energy in all directions. Kai still manages to hold on, and Kai explains that he will always learn something from his battles and that Brooklyn lacks the "beyblading spirit". Kai then unleashes his final attack and knocks a damaged Zeus out of the dish, winning the match (the attack consisted of a fire bird coming out of Dranzer and heading for Brooklyn, but for some reason, in the English dub and the versions based on it, the bird was shown when it was already midair, not making it clear that it emerged from Kai's beyblade). Brooklyn's teammates are surprised their friend lost, and Brooklyn stares stunned and confused at his beyblade after suffering hist very first beyblade defeat. Kai assures his concerned teammates that he is alright despite the beating he suffered and tells Takao that he should be more concerned with his upcoming battle against Garland. Takao shrugs Kai's advice off but secretly hopes he can summon the same amazing strength that his old friend showed in his battle. This episode has two different endings, depending on whether one's watching the original dub or the versions based on it or the altered English dub or the versions based on it. In both endings, Kai walks away into the corridor, kneels down by a wall, reflects on his battle and his teammates, then drops his Dranzer and the beyblade begins cracking, until it explodes in dozens of small peaces. In the original dub, Kai doesn't say a thing as Dranzer is destroyed, and Yuri is shown at the hospital shedding some tears while still unconscious. In the English dub, Kai tells Dranzer it is free to go, that his beyblading days are over and thanks Takao after images of his teammate staring at his own fist followed by an image of Kai smiling are shown. The images of Yuri crying were for some reason cut from this dub.
49 "Principles of Victory"
"Acho!" (アチョーーー!)
December 8, 2003July 9, 2005
Garland is seen in his preparing room, staring at a locked book. He unlocks it and wows to defeat Takao for the sake of his family honor. Meanwhile, Takao is at the corridor, standing by a wall, with Dragoon slamming that same wall and Takao's feet. The rest of the G Revolutions team discuss Takao's chances considering Garland is probably as powerful as Brooklyn. Hiro speaks with Garland and the blader explains he is battling for the name of his family, not for BEGA. He also reveals that the book he just unlocked contains the Seabald's family code. He then recalls his siblings sports achievements and wows to join them as the number one in their respective sports. Meanwhile, Takao has a training match against Daichi, Rei, Max and Kyojyu and tells them he is confident of his victory. As the final Justice 5 battle starts, Garland is confident and has a fierce fight with Takao. Throughout the battle, Garland recites the principles of his family, which makes him stronger. Eventually, he jumps and punches Takao in the face, with Apollon mimicking his move against Dragoon. Takao manages to hold on, taking the punch (the image of Garland's fist on Takao's face was cut from the English dub and the versions based on it). Eventually, Takao explains he beyblades for the fun of the sport, while Garland explains he plays only for victory. Takao says he wants to fight the real Garland, not a book of rules. Garland accepts the challenge and they get back to the battle, with Garland now fighting without his family's principles. Eventually, the crowd starts cheering for both of them and Boris observes, seemingly confused (for some reason, this was not shown in the English dub and the versions based on it). They head for their special attacks (for some reason, parts of the cutscene of Garland special attack were cut from the English dub and the versions based on it) and Takao wins. They both shake hands and congratulate each other for having a "great fight" and Boris breaks his champagne cup, furious (for some reason, the breaking cup was cut from the English dub and the versions based on it).
50 "Welcome to my Nightmare!"
"This loser!" (この負け犬が!)
December 15, 2003July 16, 2005
Since Justice 5 ended with each side having two wins and a tie, a sixth, tie-breaking match will be held so that they can settle the challenge. Takao (the one who's going to battle in the final match) and his friends pay Yuri a visit at the hospital, where he still lays unconscious (as with the previous episodes, close-ups on Yuri were cut from the English dub and the versions based on it). Meanwhile, Brooklyn is still depressed over his first defeat ever. Boris is disappointed with Hiro's performance as a coach. Garland says Boris should just worry about offering a good entertaining competition for the fans, and Boris throws some sheets of paper on his face (this was not shown in the English dub and the versions based on it). Garland offers himself for the final battle, but Hiro turns him down cold and heads for the training room were Brooklyn's on the brink of a breakdown. It's up to Hiro to get him back into fighting form. Meanwhile, Boris has taken matters into his own hands and dispatches Moses and Ming Ming to knock Takao out before he even has a chance to battle the BEGA Blader's. Both bladers consider this cheating, but Boris angrily reminds them it was him who paid for Monica's health care and who made Ming Ming a popstar, and now it's time they return the favor. They reluctantly leave, while Mystel watches from afar. Back to Brooklyn's training room, he starts getting back to beyblading and wows to make the G Revolutions pay for his defeat. Garland leaves the room, feeling sick with so much power and Mystel appears behind a window. Moses and Ming Ming attack Takao's house and have a part of it collapse (some scenes of the comotion it generated inside Takao's house were for some reason cut from the English dub and the versions based on it). Rick and Lee step in to protect Takao. Eventually, Moses starts losing it as his mind is still confused about helping Boris through cheating. When Takao opens his defense completely, deliberately leaving himself open for a smash hit, Moses has Gigars stop as Garland and Mystel arrive and he and the rest of BEGA bladers realize they are all on the same side. Before leaving, Garland warns Takao that Hiro is coaching Brooklyn and he will be stronger than ever. Brooklyn trains some launches and makes several holes at the wall of his training room, until he ultimately break through the wall opening a hole through which one can see the sky.
51 "Brooklyn's Back[lower-alpha 1]"
"And he 's Parakeet annoying!" (ウザいんだよっ!)
December 22, 2003July 23, 2005
The episode starts with a compilation of every blader of Justice 5 releasing their special attacks in the previous five matches, followed by scenes of some of the main beybladers in the season (these were for some reason cut from the English dub and the versions based on it). The final match between the G Revolutions and the BEGA Bladers has arrived. Boris meets Hiro in a corridor and orders him not to fail. Takao heads for the dish with his friends and they are all surprised to see a sinister Brooklyn as BEGA's choice (though Garland had already told them the night before that Brooklyn was BEGA's choice for the final match). As the battle starts, Brooklyn shows off his incredible powers immediately, stunning both teams on either side of the Beystadium. He even physically attacks Takao, making he fall down to the dish. Takao manages to recover, but Brooklyn still hasn't shown all his power. Blader DJ comments on the battle and Brooklyn has some rocks fall near him, telling him to "shut up" (some of these scenes were cut from the English dub and the versions based on it). No one has any idea of the true extent of Brooklyn's powers until he creates a wormhole to another dimension, creating an empty shell, carbon copy of the real world with only Takao, his teammates, and the rest of BEGA bladers. Not even Hiro was expecting so much power, whereas Boris is amazed and confident that BEGA will finally rule the beyblading world. The freak out continues as Brooklyn develops dark wings and a diabolic voice and destroys everything in his new empty world to mold it into an image that makes him satisfied. Takao's friends want to have the battle terminated, but Takao says he will continue in the name of true beyblading. Eventually, a beaten up but recovered Kai appears on top of a rock and tells Takao to keep his beyblading spirit. Takao then decides to test Brooklyn's dimension and finds out he's even able to fly.
52 "Beybattle for the Ages[lower-alpha 1]"
"GO! Shoot!" (GO!シュート!!)
December 29, 2003July 30, 2005

Brooklyn's power has generated a giant vortex in the sky that is wreaking havoc on the city. Buildings are crumbling everywhere. The entire world is being enveloped by the growing darkness. As Kaichou watches the game via TV at the hospital, Yuri begins showing signals of reaction to the real world. Takao and Brooklyn carry out a massive battle midair. Even the military try to interfere, but Brooklyn has Zeus send their aircraft towards the havoc. Takao flies towards the havoc and hacks into Brooklyn's mind, where two different sides of Brooklyn are opposed. Takao realizes Brooklyn has always been alone because he has always won, so the other kids never wanted to fight him. When reasoning fails, the pair continue their battle above the ever-crumbling city. Hiro realizes Brooklyn's power is getting way out of hand and tells everyone else to leave. However, Takao's friends will stay for him. After seeing this, Garland realizes the BEGA bladers have never been friends, and, in tears, realizes he has never helped Brooklyn. As they release their final attacks, Max has Draciel join Dragoon's tornado. Yuri then finally awakens and has Wolborg unleash its special attack on Zeus. Brooklyn then realizes Takao is not alone. Rei and Kai join in and the powers of all bitbeasts combined make Takao's beyblde evolve, creating the ultimate beyblade. Their final clash manage to take down Brooklyn's dimension, unveiling a destroyed city. Most people are confused, but when they see Dragon and Zeus are still spinning, they run to see the match. Takao's and Brooklyn's friends start cheering for their respective teammates, and even Blader DJ succumbs to the heat of the moment and let go of his microphone, cheering just like another spectator. Boris emerge from a pile of rocks and laments the destruction of his BEGA skyscraper. When he sees dozens of fans running towards him, he thinks they are willing to greet him, but they simply stampede him and keep walking towards their real goal - the battle. A dog also pees on him and a bird poops on his face, but these two scenes were cut from the English dub and the versions based on it. Boris laments they do not recognize the efforts he had put on BEGA, but Hiro appears and explains he has only coached BEGA bladers for Takao and his friends to have a higher skill level to achieve. Boris kneels down as he realizes it's over for him. Hiro reflects on how his little brother has evolved as a blader and leaves with tears of pride. Kaichou and a recovered Yuri approach the match, and Yuri and Kai exchange smiles. As for the battle, Takao and Brooklyn head for a final clash, and both beyblades take off towards the sky, with the outcome of the match never revealed. Months later, the city is still recovering from the destruction caused by Brooklyn's mind. Kaichou's BBA league restarts, but in a much more modest form, with its headquarters being a small house under a bridge. Takao and Kai rest on a hill and Takao wants to pay his promise to Kai and have a rematch. As the crowd gather around them, they prepare their beyblades (Kai's beyblade is never shown; Dranzer Hard Metal was completely destroyed after his previous clash with Brooklyn) and the episode ends with an image of Dranzer and Dragoon staring at each other.

The anime ends here in the English dub and the versions based on it, but in the original Japanese dub and the versions based on it, images of almost every team and major character that appeared in the series are shown. Bahuzu are seen in a forest with their coach; Mystel plucks some fruits from a tree; Ming-Ming holds a concert watched by an excited Kyojyu; Moses rejoins his recovered sister Monica; Brooklyn rests with some animals while Garland watches from the window of a mansion, where he is practicing with a new haircut; Neo Borg walk by a crowd of cheering fans in Russia, reunited with their old member Ian who was absent in this season; Hiro coaches some kids in beyblading; the Saint Shields are shown in a field; Kane, Salima, Jim and Goki are seen coming out of a plane; F Sangre have a two-on-two battle against King and Queen in a stadium, and so do Matilda and Aaron against Robert and Oliver; Rick battles Hiruta in an alley; Johnny, Enrique, Miguel and Claude have an unexplained problem with the Dark Bladers in a corridor; the PPB All Starz and Judy Mizuhara greet old member Steve in an hospital where he is being treated for a broken foot (he was also absent from the season); a short-haired Zeo is seen with a violin in his hands looking through a window, with his Cerberus beyblade near him; Romero, Takao's grandfather, Hiromi, teacher Kinkaid, Max's father and Kyojyu's parents are seen in Kyojyu' parents' restaurant; the manga exclusive characters Hikaru Tomoji, Kennosuke Shishi and Tenmaru Shishi make a cameo appearance; and the season ends with an image of Takao, Kai, Rei, Max, Daichi and Kyojyu.
