Mark-Anthony Kaye (born 2 December 1994) is a Canadian soccer player who currently plays for Louisville City FC in the USL.

Career

Youth and amateur

Kaye attended Lawrence Park Collegiate Institute in Toronto before graduating in 2012. Kaye was named the team's MVP during his junior and senior years. Following graduation, Kaye played for the York Lions of York University. During the 2012 and 2013 seasons, Kaye was the recipient of numerous accolades including being named OUA rookie of the year and to the CIS second-team all-Canadian and OUA first-team all-stars.[1] Kaye left the university squad and was not part of its 2014 roster.[2]

Club career

League1 Ontario and Wilmington Hammerheads

Mark-Anthony Kaye joined TFC Academy, the academy side of Major League Soccer's Toronto FC in 2013. In 2014 he played in League1 Ontario with the senior academy team. Kaye joined the Wilmington Hammerheads of the USL Pro on loan from TFC Academy in August 2014 as part of an affiliation between the two clubs.[3] He made his professional debut on 23 August 2014 in a league match against Orange County Blues FC. The next day, Kaye tallied his first professional goal and assist as Wilmington drew 3-3 with LA Galaxy II.[4] In total, Kaye appeared in 7 matches and tallied 2 goals and 2 assists during his loan with the Hammerheads.[5]

Toronto FC II

On 12 March 2015 Toronto FC II announced it had signed Kaye and 7 others to contracts ahead of their inaugural season in the USL.[6] He made his debut against the Charleston Battery on 21 March.[7]

Louisville City FC

Kaye moved to Louisville City FC on 13 January 2016.[8]

International career

In May 2016, Kaye was called to Canada's U23 national team for a pair of friendlies against Guyana and Grenada.[9] He saw action in both matches.[10]
