National Interfraternity Music Council

The National Interfraternity Music Council (NIMC) is composed of the national or international presidents of seven music fraternities and meets annually to discuss matters of mutual interest.[1]

Activities

Unlike other inter-fraternal organizations such as the North-American Interfraternity Conference, the National Panhellenic Conference, or the National Pan-Hellenic Council, the NIMC is not an incorporated body nor is it organized to regulate the actions of its member organizations. Rather, the NIMC is simply an annual gathering. However, formal agreements between the member organizations may be made.

Local Branches

Through the NIMC, Delta Omicron, Mu Phi Epsilon, and Sigma Alpha Iota have entered into a shared campus agreement that requires their chapters to form a campus interfraternity music council (CIMC) when chapters of two or more of the organizations exist on a single campus. The CIMC may also include representatives of the chapters of other NIMC member organizations if they exist on the campus. The purpose of the CIMC is to promote good relations among the member organizations and to establish guidelines for fair and equitable membership recruitment.
