Nir Eyal is an Israeli-American author, educator, and entrepreneur.[2] In addition to his personal blog, NirAndFar.com, he is a frequent contributing writer for Forbes, TechCrunch,[3] and Psychology Today – writing about the intersection of psychology, technology, and business. Nir frequently writes about how technology shapes user behavior by creating new habits.
Personal life
Nir Eyal's book Hooked: How to Build Habit-Forming Products was published by Portfolio on November 4, 2014 and debuted on the Wall Street Journal business bestseller list.[4] Hooked made several "best of" lists including being named one of the best business books of the year by Goodreads[5] and the best marketing book of the year by 1800CEOREAD.[6]
Nir is an Israeli-born American now residing in Silicon Valley, California. Nir co-founded two start-ups. The first, Sunshine Business Development was acquired in 2007. The second, AdNectar, received venture funding from Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and was acquired in 2011.[7]
Nir holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a BA from Emory University.[8]
