Palpara is a village, in Patashpur I CD Block in Egra subdivision of Purba Medinipur district in the state of West Bengal, India.

Demographics

As per 2011 Census of India Palpara had a total population of 7,007 of which 3,559 (51%) were males and 3,448 (49%) were females. Population below 6 years was 889. The total number of literates in Palpara was 5,135 (83.93% of the population over 6 years).[1]

Transport

The Egra-Patashpur-Amarshi-Bhagabanpur-Bajkul Road passes through Palpara.[2]

Education

Yogoda Satsanga Palpara Mahavidyalaya was established in 1964. It is affiliated to Vidyasagar University and offers courses in science and arts, and B.Ed. Janardan Sahu contributed substantially to the establishment of the college.[3][4]
