Silverwing is a 2003 Canadian children's animated television series based on Kenneth Oppel's novel of the same name.

Synopsis

Long ago before the first migration, the animals initiated the Great Battle to establish the balance of nature and the territory limits of every species. The birds and beasts banished all bats into the darkness for not choosing sides. As Shade mistakenly breaks the law, he sets out to reason with the animals.

Confronting Goth and Throbb, Shade and Marina learn that the two are killing a few animals.

Orestes frees the bats, and escape from the group of owls. After Orestes force the bats to leave the station and Throbb survives the thunderstorm, Goth chases Shade but gets electrocuted.

Shade and Marina meet and suggest Ursa to defend the animals from the pack of wolves. Later, Goth recovers and kills the crow.

After meeting up with banded bats at the mountain, Shade saves Marina's colony from Goth and Throbb, who steal the rest of all bands. Meanwhile, the colony arrives at the airport.

After Romulus banishes Remus at the junkyard, Shade and Marina see Orestes again. As the colony and Bathsheba leave, Ariel, Frieda and Mercury escape from the airport.

Shade echo-projects Zotz to distract Goth and leaves the mine with his allies.

As Shade, Marina and Orestes arrive at Hibernaculum, Shade reunites with his colony, Goth and Throbb recruits the wolves, and Bathsheba asks Brutus to remove Shade from the colony.

The bats, bears and owls fight back against the wolves, until Goth is killed by collapsing icicles on the waterfall. The animals congratulate and permit the bats to fly outside.
