The former towns of Billy-sous-les-Côtes, Creuë, Hattonchâtel, Hattonville, Saint-Benoît-en-Woëvre, and Viéville-sous-les-Côtes were joined to Vigneulles-lès-Hattonchâtel on 1 March 1973.
