WalkMe is a web-based service owned by WalkMe Inc. that helps users navigate the features of other web-based services.[1][2][3][4]

Background

WalkMe works by overlaying information in "tip-balloons"[5] in the browser window.[6] These balloons break down online processes into step-by-step instructions.[7] These balloons help users complete online tasks without leaving the screen to watch video tutorials or read manuals or FAQ pages.[8] WalkMe algorithm delivers contextual guidance. This allows users automatically get the specific guidance according to their preference and language.[9]

History

WalkMe Inc. was founded in 2011, and in April 2012 launched the product WalkMe.[9] Their headquarters are at 22 4th Street, in San Francisco,[3] California,[10] and the company is backed by Mangrove Capital Partners, Giza Venture Capital, Gemini Funds and ScaleVP.[11]

In June 2015, WalkMe announced it had raised $25 million in Series D funding, bringing total investment to $42.5 million. [12]

In October 2014, WalkMe Won Customer Magazine’s 2014 “Contact Center Technology” Award. [13]

In October 2014, leading training influencer Craig Weiss recognized WalkMe as the best product at the 2014 DevLearn Conference. [14]

In June 2014, WalkMe[15] Won Customer Magazine’s 2014 “Communications Solution Product of the Year” Award. [16]
