Welspun Syntex Ltd is Indian company engaged in texturising, draw twisting and twisting of polyester yarns based in Mumbai, Maharashtra.[4] It also first textile company in India to adopt new standards in carbon foot printing.[5] It is a part company of the $3-billion (Rs 12,900 crore) Welspun Group[6] and promoted by G R Goenka, B K Goenka, S K Goenka and R R Mandawewala. The first manufacturing plant was established in Silvassa then further added another plant in Palghar (Thane district)[7]
History
It was incorporated in 1982[1] with plant in Silvassa which was the first texturising unit in 1988 at a capital outlay of Rs. 1.58 cr. In 1994, company expanded its base by merging with Welspun Polydyed Ltd.[8]
