The B and B Chemical Company is an historic streamline moderne building at 784 Memorial Drive in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The building was constructed in 1937 to a design by Coolidge, Shepley, Bulfinch & Abbott, and was intended for use as an integrated office, laboratory, and small-scale production space for the B & B Chemical Company, a subsidiary of the United Shoe Machinery Corporation. It later served as the headquarters for the Polaroid Corporation. The facility produced adhesives used in the shoe manufacturing process at other plants. The building is architecturally notable as one of the city's first examples of the style.[2]
The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.[1] It is owned by The Bulfinch Companies of Needham, Massachusetts.[3]
