Capnamic is a venture capital firm based in Cologne, Germany focusing on investments in the technology sector. The firm is managing its first fund generation and is among the largest independent Early-Stage venture capital investors in Germany.[1]
About
Capnamic Ventures was founded in 2013 by managing partners Christian Siegele and Jörg Binnenbrücker and maintains offices in Cologne and Berlin.[2] In December 2015, Olaf Jacobi joined Capnamic Ventures as general partner.[3]
Fund Setup
The fund’s investor base consists of established corporations (multi company approach) from various industries (publishing, retail, banking, internet, music, aviation, advertising) as well as family offices and High-net-worth individuals.[4] The firm maintains a partnership with Iris Capital, one of the leading European Growth & Development Capital funds in the TMT sector in form of a co-invest agreement for all German Early Stage investments with the OP Ventures Early-Stage Fund – a multi company fund by France-Télécom-Orange and Publicis Groupe.[5][6]
Investment Focus
Capnamic focuses its investment activities on scalable business models along the digital value chain in fast-growing sectors e.g. Mobile, Data, Analytics, SaaS, FinTech, Mobility, eHealth, Smart Devices.[7] The firm does Seed- and Series A investments with initial ticket sizes usually ranging between 500k and €2.0M and also opportunistically participates in later stage deals.[8] Geographically, Capnamic invests in the European market, with special emphasize on Germany, Switzerland and Austria.[7]
