United States presidential election in Virginia, 1960
The 1960 United States presidential election in Virginia took place on November 8, 1960 throughout all 50 states, but not The District of Columbia, which was not part of the 1960 United States presidential election. Voters chose 12 representatives, or electors to the Electoral College, who voted for President and Vice President.
Virginia voted for the Republican nominee, incumbent Vice President Richard Nixon, over the Democratic nominee, Senator John F. Kennedy. Kennedy ultimately won the national election with 49.72% of the vote.
