It forms a city municipal corporation council electoral constituency and is a part of Tollyganj (Vidhan Sabha constituency).^[1]

The boundaries of the ward are: Tolly’s Nullah (Adi Ganga) is in the north. H.L.Sarkar Road and Pirpukur Road are in the east. Bansdroni mauza is in the south. Ananda Pally Road and Bandipur Road are in the west.^[2]
