It forms a city municipal corporation council electoral constituency and is a part of Tollyganj (Vidhan Sabha constituency).^[1]

The boundaries of the ward are: Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Road and Graham Road are in the north. Nagendra Narayan Dutta Road is in the east. Tolly’s Nullah is in the south and west.^[2]
